Blade slides all the time which isn't very safe, is there a trick to locking this blade?

I have four of these and I don't have that problem with any of them. Mine lock automatically when I take my finger off the button to slide it out. If yours doesn't do that it might be defective. You may want to check with the manufacturer.

i could not open the back of this knife in order to figure out - how to replace the old blade with a new blade. ivery poor instructions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

The back portion will just slide right off when you grasp the end and pull. You need a firm grip though so ensure you're hands are clean and dry when gripping the end (you won't be able to grip it if your fingers are slippery at all). Also, grip only on the portion that will be removed (you can see the molded shape of the end piece where it disconnects from the body) and not on the body of the knife itself. Once you do it once, it gets a lot easier. I hope that helps.
