Read and Understand with Leveled Texts, Grade 2 Teacher Resource

This book, and two others by the same company, were requested for me to buy by my son’s tutor. She is a kindergarten teacher and tutors various grade levels.

This book is good and hits all the points I wanted it to hit, but some of the exercises are not laid out well. One exercise wants you to cut out and glue stuff, which means you won't be able to complete the exercise on the next page because you've cut it up.

Teachers, this series is wonderful! I used Grade 1 passages for fluency, as well as comprehension. It is nice to have readable passages of different genres for students to practice for fluency, as well as a number of targeted tasks to strengthen a variety of reading skills. I find it complements our reading series perfectly, and now have three different grade levels to meet the varied needs in my classroom. I especially like that the passages are varied, as well as the activities. My students love them, and they are fun!! I have used the passages as a springboard to other hands o activities, like actually making the recipe, or learning more about a person, topic, or culture. I noticed that this book has a section of comparing texts to one another, encouraging kids to make those text to text connections. Passage questions ask students to make text to self connections also. Pages tear out easily and neatly for duplication. You will not be sorry to add this resource to your classroom.

Great for our 2nd grade homeschoolers. Very informative and short enough to hold their attention.

Love these books, get them for my two kids to work a little extra at home. We have used other brands before but this is my favorite so far.
