Love these Annatto seeds, have bought them before, Use them for colouring my luxury soap, they give a great colour. Will continue to buy them.

I bought the Old India Annatto Seeds mainly for cooking, but my mum also uses annatto to make tea, so I wanted something clean and good quality. These seeds are exactly that. They come well‑packaged, evenly sized, and with that deep reddish‑orange colour you expect. No dust or random bits mixed in - just proper annatto. For cooking, the colour payoff is great. Blooming the seeds in oil gives you that rich orange tone almost instantly, which is perfect for homemade achiote, rice dishes, and stews. A small amount goes a long way, especially if you’re using it mainly for colouring. My mum uses these seeds for tea sometimes, and they work well for that too. The flavour is mild and earthy, not overpowering, and the colour it gives the water is really nice. It’s one of those ingredients that has more uses than people realise. The resealable bag is practical and keeps everything fresh. And for 250g, you get plenty - definitely enough for regular cooking or making tea without running out quickly. Frankly annatto seeds were new to me not that long ago, thought I'd try some from a trusted brand. I therefore didn't know quite what to expect, besides colour, but colour they do give, and a pleasant sort of 'sweet bitterness' almost like pineapple & pink peppercorns in a single bite. They are pretty rock hard though - grind or strain out - in fact they seem to get harder with cooking rather than soften like cinnamon, I just ate one to remind myself of the taste and it was pretty ok to bite.

It is what I'm looking for. I will use this a lot for my cooking Asian foods. Natural food color and no additives. Brilliant purchase. I'm so happy.

This product is the worst from all the order I have made in Amazon. The seeds has not been doing its purpose. Appears to be used as it is looks really dry and some of the seeds are already black in color. No color at all upon using- I already poured almost 1/4 of the bag but still no color. Waste of money.
