Works very well with good technique
It definitely works well and as advertised. If it is not working for you, read the directions a couple of times, and watch YouTube videos. You should definitely practice; you have enough of them available. For me, it was not working very well; then I changed my technique, and it worked very well. For those breaking them, you are applying unnecessary force. Little force is needed if you find the right technique. Practice!I seriously hate the price. Was going to give a lower rating based on that. But it is what it is until they get cloned.

Small but effective
I've had the same stick in my victorinox for a few months now, and have started about a dozen fires with ZERO issues or breaking. These are small and could be fragile if you're an ogre. I've heard of people braking theirs left and right, BUT if you support the end of the stick with under tip of the finger (like the meaty part) and strike the tip of the stick you'll get consistent sparks with no risk of breaking the stick.

Hold and strike it properly!
It’s great quality for what it is, a better than nothing option when you need it. I would not use it regularly because it is brittle but definitely happy with it over a tooth pick. You have to hold it and strike it properly per the instructions or it will break. I broke one of three and that was my fault but I still made a fire using the broken piece. Just know that it wouldn’t hold up as regular use item but it definitely beats a tooth pick any day.

Nice add on. A bit pricy and kind of fragile. If you are a SAK fan you will probably want them even if you don't think you will need them.

Thought this item was cool.But amazed at the high density of the sparks it puts out.Very durable and will buy again.But the larger fire starter will not fit in a sak ranger knife you need the smaller one

Will Not Fit and breaks
Absolutely useless, DOES NOT FIT AND WILL GET STUCK.This “firestarter “ will not fit because they got the dimensions wrong. Too thick and to weak. Totally missed the quality control ( if they even have it).Broke on the first try.DO NOT BUY

Fire when you need it.
This is cool and it works. I removed the toothpick and replaced it with this fire starter.Fits perfect with my Victorinox Woodsmans and pocket knife. Easy to use. Thin side up.Practice with it before you really have to use it. I like the neon green color.
