Nice reader for Mac and PC.
Nice and compact and works well for both Mac and PC. Just have to download the drivers from IOGear, and if you're trying to use this with a DoD CAC (at least; not sure about any others) on a Mac, you'll have to make sure to not use the latest firmware (instructions are easily found on the Internet). Worked great with Mountain Lion, but just having some issues getting Mavericks to behave (an OS X config problem, not this reader).

Just works
This works for DOS smart card. You will just have to remember to choose the "Correct" certificate to sign in. As for durability, it is just cheap plastic, but looks sturdy enough. Only time will tell how well this wears on, including the reader sensor. What I like most about this is the compact size, it even has cable management built in.

I love this portable CAC card reader
I love this portable CAC card reader. Allows me to insert my CAC out in public, while looking at adult material on my laptop. Truly an exhilarating experience. Oh, also lets me login to AKO randomly, after installing 86,000 certificates, 9 different versions of internet explorer and 154 different drivers.
