EPSON 552 EcoTank Ink Ultra-high Capacity Bottle Black (T552020-S) Works with ET-8500, 8550

We’ve been using Epson EcoTank printers for high-volume printing, and they’ve been a great fit for our needs. This ink performs exactly as expected and delivers consistent results. We mainly use it for printing photos for passport applications, where color accuracy and clarity matter. The quality has been very good—colors come out clean and natural, and the prints are sharp. We haven’t had issues with smudging or inconsistencies. One of the biggest advantages is how long the ink lasts. Compared to traditional cartridges, it goes a long way, which makes it very practical for regular use. Overall, if you’re doing a lot of printing and need reliable, good-quality results, this is a solid option.

It’s so nice to “feed” my Epson ET-8550 printer with this relatively inexpensive ink, knowing it will print for a LONG time before needing another refill. The ink is great, and prints nice, dark blacks. Eco-tank printers are definitely the way to go, and Epson’s price for this ink is very reasonable and much cheaper than non-eco-tank printers. I prefer OEM to knock-off ink, and the knock-offs are not so much cheaper than this OEM ink like it is with non-eco-tank printers. Highly recommend this item.

Not sure why Epson didn't have this black in with the 5-bottle set, but order this one also. Best there is for making your prints pop using the Epson ET-8500 Series.

Which is the Epson ET-8550. Epson is now using a true CMYK print system with cyan, magenta, yellow, and 3 different blacks. The old 6 color Claria HD photo system with light cyan and light magenta is really excellent, and possible produces slightly better results in difficult areas like skin tones. But you'll only detect any difference, if any, by comparing the two ink systems side by side with the same image on the same paper. And the Claria ink is horribly expensive per print, if you are doing any volume printing. They're being careful to not call the EcoTank ink by the name Claria, and they're not claiming identical results. I don't think they are necessarily identical, but producing ten or twenty times as many prints for the same ink cost makes up for any deficiency that 95 percent of people can't see anyway.
