Xbox Play and Charge Kit USB

This Xbox Play and Charge Kit has been great. The battery life is excellent and feels like it lasts forever between charges. The included USB-C cable is also high quality and works great for charging. Definitely recommend this if you’re tired of constantly replacing batteries in your Xbox controller.

Battery lasts a long time. Easy to charge.

Battery has roughly 5 hours of play time. It shuts down abruptly with no warning of low battery. I get 10 hours of play time using lithium batterys. Xbox needs a better controller and battery.

I bought this because in mid brawlhalla match, my batteries ran out and was brutally dominated by a spear spammer (Even tho I was already being dominated) which resulted in me breaking a hole in my wall where my neighbor was watching brainrot PH videos. Ignoring the fact I have to live with the mental image of that AND in debt because of the broken wall, I can now play knowing I won't have to go to the other side of my house for the TV control batteries! Even tho I'm still being dominated in Brawlhalla. Worth it!

I don’t write negative reviews unless I feel I looked up all possible replacement options so here we go. I got the Xbox Play and Charge kit in August 2023 and I would’ve rated this a 5 star up until a couple weeks. The battery simply won’t charge or doesn’t charge past “Critical” level. I leave this plugged in while I play and overnight and I can’t get the battery to charge. When it’s plugged in, I only get the “Plugged In” status, which you get if the battery is removed and the controller is plugged in. I use the usb-c cord this came with and the controller turns on and says plugged in so I know it’s not a cord or controller issue. I had the previous version, the Xbox One Plug and Play kit, and that battery lasted nearly 10 years while this new version lasts 10 months. Microsoft’s help page is also severely outdated, only linking the troubleshooting to the aforementioned Xbox One Plug and Play kit. The cord provided in the modern Xbox Play and Charge kit doesn’t have the charge light indicator as stated so you don’t know if the battery is charging when plugged into the wall or while the Xbox is off. Overall, buy at your own risk and don’t expect to find help through a warranty. The warranty for accessories is linked to your console so if your console warranty is out, you pay to get the charge kit serviced, along with the shipping, even if the accessory was purchased a full year after the console warranty expires. I didn’t call anyone for this issue, this day and age, I shouldn’t have to. This is all just based on Microsoft’s website and support community. Like me, let’s see where all these 5 star reviews are a year from now.

This is more conveinient that most other battery alternatives for the Xbox controller, i didnt want to have battery docks and all sorts of noncence so opted for the official battery that charges inside the controller, i used rechargable AA cells before which didnt last very long and of course the headache of having to swap them out, the Xbox battery solves this as you charge and go, or just top it up periodically. The battery life is modest, its about on par with rechargable AA cells which is fine, the only gripe i have is the battery rolloff voltage seems a bit steep, I start playing and the level is about 50% 30 minutes or so the controller just switches off, no prompt from the console that the level is low like using regular cells, if they manage to fix this with a software update i would call it a perfect solution, however the only work around to avoid mid game cutout is to ensure you have the batttery on charge when not in use or have the cable at hand in the event it cuts out, so in essence it solves most of the problems but created a new one. Xbox please make the console detect low power for this pack!!! Its the only thing which would make this a perfect solution.

La pila es muy buena, y es de buena duración, pero tiene algunos detalles como la falta de una clara situación de carga. Es difícil deducir cuando se ha cargado, y tiende a desconectarse a veces si no es colocada de forma óptima, llegas a pensar que no tiene pila, pero luego la mueves y sigue funcionando.

Ook l bestaan er sterkere accu packs. Ik kies toch altijd het liefst voor het originele Microsoft product. Deze accu's houden het vaak langer uit qua levensduur dan de accu's van de concorent.
