Used this to connect a pretty old Vinyl Cutter (Summa D750) to a windows 10 machine. Worked out perfectly.

10-ft of RS232 goodness.
I used this to interface with older pieces of laboratory equipment so that we could use them on modern hardware with more success. This thing is a bit finicky with some of the terminal emulators but once you get it going it works just fine. I dunno why 'sheerness' is considered a reviewable point here but yes, it's shiny.

No built-in serial port needed any longer!
I needed a solution for my Lenovo T440s to connect directly to our IMS4000 equipment monitoring system via a serial cable. This cable was exactly what I needed! I plugged it into the USB port on my laptop, waited for the drivers to install and connected to the IMS host. Seconds later I was in and could configure everything to my heart's desire! No more schlepping around the antiquated laptop with serial port built in. Oh, and this cable looks and feels solid!
