8GB Micro SD Card Pre-Programmed v1.6r1

I bought this as part of a bunch of parts to make a Stratux ADS-B receiver, as recommended by stratux.me. Nice high quality parts, all went together very well, quick & easy assemble. Finished product works well. Took less than an hour to put it all together. Sure beats paying $700 for Stratus, or even some $270 for a pre-assembled Stratux.

Supply chain issues and scarcity of Raspberry Pi3b+ SBC's (single board computers) brought Stratux products to a screeching halt. Finally, AHRS modules again because available. All the parts are reasonable again and the ADS-B and AHRS are practically flawless!

Don't waste your time with this product! The software they load takes up just shy of the entire disk! If you activate logging in the setup, it quickly fills up the remaining disk then makes the unit crap out because of ZERO bytes remaining to complete its task. Go out and purchase a 16GB micro SD Class Type 10 micro UHC disk for 2/3rds of the cost of this 2 GB unknown quality and speed. Downloading the software from CYoung's Stratux website is simple and fast. The down-loadable software has all the Linux Raspberry Pi3B files necessary to run. You don't have to load Linux then the Stratux software on top of it. One flash and you are ready to go with room to spare. The cost of this unit is not much of a factor but rapidly running out of space IS. For crying out loud! Use a larger memory chip instead of cramming it to 99.995% capacity when you know there is data the unit needs to write to the micro SD card on top of the existing software. After just 2 hours of flight, the darn thing locked up until the card was replaced. The other thing to consider is that updates for increased function is going to be LARGER than the previous update and refuse to load. I cannot even reflash the 2GB card with one minor revision (1.4r3.4) higher because the program is larger than the card allows (after just 2 days of use).

It was exactly what the description said. I got it because I was replacing my GPS module and figured I might as well update the software while I was working on my Stratux. What I did not know was that older Stratux units such as mine do not work with the new software load - some of the older components are not compatible. Mine worked but refused to connect fully to my navigator, only partial information came through. Putting my old software card back into the machine fixed it, I am glad I did not re-flash the card I had and saved that old software load, just in case.

I've been flying with the Stratux now for a few weeks as a CFI on the weekends. All the hardware and software have operated as promised, and I'm most pleased. I am using a Bad Elf GPS on the top of the dash, and mount the Stratus on the read passenger window using an old iPhone holder. This seems to offer great reception for traffic and weather without using up important canopy space up front. Traffic avoidance is so critical to safe flight instruction, and I'm thrilled with having this added layer of protection while teaching.

I ordered two cards for my first two Stratux builds. The first one booted right up and connected to my iPad. The second one powered up but would not boot. A little online research lead me to re-imaging the card and it worked. I followed the directions on Chris Young's site: stratux.me for downloading the file and re-imaging the card. I would rather have it work right out of the box but, was grateful for the online info. Also, just an FYI, the two I received are Class 4 speed.

I have been using the Stratux since May of 2018. Works great. Had a recent SD card problem so I ordered this replacement. Everything is working now. This card has the latest version even though the package it came in had a label with the last version marked. The Stratux is a low cost way of improving avation safety and traffic awareness.

Seems to be working well. I have not encountered any bugs. This small card fits in the RaspberryPi and stays in place. This items saves the steps of downloading the software and loading it on a Micro SD card. I personally don't own hardware to do this.

Received as requested, insert into Raspberry Pi3B board together with other parts - as a result I can see Stratux wi-fi - but can't connect to 192.168.10.1 from any of my devices, looks like need to reflash software on this SD card.

Received item very fast, pretty much within 3 days after I had ordered it. The quality is superior as expected when ordering and no defects or issues were experienced. Remember to use Stratux guide for formatting the card in case you experience your assembled unit not functioning properly.
