Sadly no. I was hoping the same when I ordered, but don't get me wrong these cathodes are pretty sweet. You can pick up a sound control module for around 5-10 so no worries :)

Does this blink on and off with the music is playing ?

CLK12BL2 does not blink on off when the music is playing.

Just how bright are these? I assume there is no way to control that? I don't want it to light up my office like a strange blue sun... I think.

Unfortunately, there is no way to dim these lights, but I would say they are not overly bright. If you're going to use them in a room that has other lighting, these should be just fine. My PC has a clear side panel, where these cathodes are installed. When my room lights are off, these units give off a very nice blue glow, similar to, but not brighter than neon.
