What's not to like? This film is hilariously zany with great comedic performances by Gene Wilder and Donald Sutherland. Excellent quality disc, and a must-have for any Gene Wilder fan!

I recall seeing this movie many years ago and it was funny.

I hadn't seen this movie in a million years, but remember watching it on TV way back; the story is light and fun and it looks like everyone's having a good time making this movie. I'm not a huge Gene Wilder fan, but he did well here mixing it up with Donald Sutherland, and the story just kept on rolling. Would be a good marathon with Tom Jones, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, and Around the World in 80 Days ('56 version). I believe the old term describing this kind of movie would be "whacky". Enjoy!

I never saw this movie and was glad I purchased it! Love Gene Wilder and Victor Spinetti!, both my favorite actors! The movie was very entertaining! Never a dull moment!

I loved this film as a kid and wanted to rewatch it. While I love everyone involved including Gene Wilder, Donald Sutherland, and the genius Orson Welles, the film wasn’t quite as funny as I remembered it. The performances are great, and it’s an entertaining film I’m sure I’ll watch again, but for me it’s just one of those films or tv shows you revisit out of nostalgia only to be slightly let down due to your over-inflated expectations.

Movie is engaging and entertaining - except for the ending which is kind of a cheat.

I've watched this movie several times and it never ceases to entertain me. It's witty and the acting is superb. Lots of quotable lines that make me giggle even now.

Hannibal Free Public Library, Hannibal, Missouri, purchased this DVD, catalogedit, and placed in the circulating collection. Our first check-out occurred in February 2016, and the patron reported the DVD did not play on her equipment. We tried it on several PCs and on our DVD player. It did not play on any of our equipment either. We read the packaging, which says, "This disc is expected to play back in DVD video "play only" devices, and may not play back in other DVD devices including recorders and PC drives." Nothing about this stipulation is stated on Amazon at http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005ZVIP2Y?redirect=true&ref_=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_0. Only a hint is given in the Editorial Review section: "This product is manufactured on demand using DVD-R recordable media. Amazon.com's standard return policy will apply." When I Googled the meaning of "DVD-R recordable media," under "What is the difference between DVD R and DVD RW," I learned that this type of DVD is playable on MOST DVD players. This particular DVD does not play on any of ours. I really, really wish Amazon had made it more clear that its on-demand DVD was less than friendly. It's too late to return the DVD to Amazon since it was purchased in August 2015. Our patron is very disappointed.

I remember this comedy from childhood, and just had to own it. It is just as hilarious as I remembered it. A mistaken identity farce set in the French revolution.

I always felt this movie did not get the accolades it deserved. It is by far one of the funniest take offs on the French Revolution. Both Wilder and Sutherland are hilarious. Having lent out my first copy of the film, which was never returned, I purchased the Archive Collection issue through Amazon. I have probably watched it 6 times and it still comes across as a classic comedy piece. If you want a good laugh you can't go wrong with "Start the Revolution Without Me",
