Buyer beware
The item did not work at all I could clearly see one of the chips had been reworked and the USB connector pen was not connected how is this not tested before it was sent out? This is total BS I expected more

Solder The Jumpers otherwise it won't work!
This is the fourth shield for me and all work just fine. Make sure you jump the VBUS power to 5V, SS and INT on the board before running the software. Use the keyboard test sketch Examples/USB HostShield Library/HID/USBHIDBootKbd. It will automatically pick up D9 and D10 as INT and SS for the UNO or MEGA boards.

Missing an entire IC
I have come to expect some pretty good and reliable quality from HiLetgo. This was an utter disappointment. I did not get the IC near the rear of the board at all, disabling the functionality of the board. Some of the pins were not angled right on top of the board, but fit fine into the arduino. Also it blocks the SDA and SDL pins which is annoying.
