The Ultimate Fatigue-Free Desktop Experience (Pro-Tip: Flip Them!)
OverviewI purchased the Triangle Borea BR02 back in December 2021, and after years of extensive daily use as nearfield desktop monitors, they have completely won me over. If you are tired of modern bookshelf speakers that look great but slice your eardrums open with fatiguing high-frequency brightness, these are the remedy. The Sound: Zero Fatigue, Natural MidsThe main reason I absolutely love the BR02 is its tonal balance. I have auditioned multiple speakers in this class, and most of them tend to be way too harsh or analytical for close-up listening. The Tweeter: The silk domes on these are incredibly smooth, soft, and gentle. They preserve transient detail without ever introducing that piercing sibilance that cuts a listening session short. The Midrange: Vocals and instrumentation sound remarkably organic, natural, and free of artificial coloration. I can easily sit at my desk working and listening for hours on end with absolutely zero ear fatigue.Acoustic Optimization (The "Upside Down" Trick)For desktop nearfield duty, geometry matters. I am running these intentionally upside down, and I highly recommend experimenting with this setup.By flipping the cabinets, the tweeters sit perfectly at ear height while the mid-woofers are elevated higher off the desk surface. This simple placement trick significantly reduces mid-frequency acoustic bounce off the desk, cleaning up the imaging and preventing muddy phase cancellations. My Setup & 2.1 IntegrationTo unlock their full potential, I have integrated them into a measured, DSP-corrected ecosystem:Amplification: Powering them cleanly via a Fosi V3 stereo amplifier.Low-End Foundation: Paired with an SVS SB-1000 Pro subwoofer sitting directly next to my chair. The Crossover: I have them perfectly crossed over at 65Hz at -6dB. The transition is an absolute chef's kiss—a flawless, seamless blend where the speakers handle the imaging and the SVS effortlessly takes over the heavy lifting below.Calibration: Tuned using a UMIK-1 calibrated microphone hooked up to REW (Room EQ Wizard) software to generate precise parametric filters, deployed via Equalizer APO on my PC.The Bottom LineThe Triangle Borea BR02 is an incredible, high-value introduction to true hi-fi sound. When paired with a quality subwoofer and given a tiny bit of acoustic placement care, they deliver a massive, rich, non-fatiguing wall of sound. Highly recommended for any serious desktop setup!

The BR03's smaller brother, but just as mighty!
I've been a fan of Triangle for a while, but normally their offerings came at a much higher price tag. The new Borea line is disrupting the "entry/mid-level hifi" market segment providing some incredible quality at this price point. There is a very airy sound, which is something I like about the silk dome tweeter and natural paper woofer cones. These speakers do a great job of putting you 'inside' of the music. The sound stage is incredible for 2 5" bookshelf speakers, I've owned floor standers that could not provide this dimension of sound stage in the past! Truly impressive. The quality of the enclosure/finish is top-notch as well. The white vinyl wrap with the black driver trim/phase plugs and white paper cones really give this speaker a modern look that was easy to sell my wife on.Overall, I think for the price this is a solid bookshelf speaker for home theater use. For a true upgrade to this you would easily spend double the price or more. Great value proposition here from Triangle and I am excited to see what will happen when they refresh this product line.

BEST BOOKSHELF SPEAKERS
I wont go into to much detail, but imagine this, Music, Gaming and TV that's sound 100% better than any sound bar under £1000. The mids are crisp and precise, the bass drop to 51Hz, very deep for a speaker of this size, and the overall sound stage feels big. Centre image is perfect and the off access sound is outstanding. I doesn't matter where your sitting, these awesome little speakers sound incredible in any room you have and you can be walking around and not hear any difference in the sound. I have two sets of these speakers they are that good. You can sit right next to them or be 12 feet away. I makes no difference at all, and they dont care what electronics you pair the to. These were valued at £499.99 last year, if you pay less than that now, its a bargain. I cant recommend these enough, there better than the bigger version the BRO3 everywhere except bass. Highly recommended 👌

Hype? Let it be.
I recently bought 2 pairs of speakers here from established brands; very similar size, weight and characteristics. First I bought speakers I wanted many years ago, I bought new model, of course. Two weeks after that I couldn’t resist these Triangles. So I could compare both new ones, and I could compare BR02 with my old JM Lab Daline 3.1 (lower Focal-JM Lab speakers, but very decent and in much higher price range in those days) and JPW Mini Monitors I have (I won’t mention them again).I listened to Borea BR02 powered with two different amplifiers – I wanted to explore everything I could, although it was immediately clear to me that my decision was excellent. Someone said that Triangles need many hours of burning in, so I was prepared for that. But they sounded so well from the beginning, I let the time goes by without dedicated burning-in tracks. Now they are over 100 hours.I enjoy listening to all genres on these speakers, the instruments are convincing and the sound image is very good. Many times I found myself unconsciously waiting with anticipation for a singer or lead instrument to join in after already great sound image of some intro I knew well – as if there was no room for anything more. It always turned out even better than I expected. Anyway, now I have to re-listen all my music again, just every single track. With joy.The finish of these speakers is not comparable to my first new pair for example, SOUND of these BR02 probably deserves wood veneer. ??? I wish, but on the other hand I really don’t care. After all, I just bought another much better finished pair with poorer sound and put them back in their box.Triangles are standing next to my JM Lab speakers, if I compare them, it is hard to decide which ones are better overall. If I had to choose, I would probably keep Triangles, slightly more pleasant, lively and fuller sound. If I were planning to buy speakers for 200 or even 4 times more (800), in both cases I would choose BR02 (now that I know. Note: I can’t compare them with BR03, they may be equally good, but I have no experience.) I was honest in every way, but I know that you know, it is hard to recommend anything related to music.I am completely satisfied, sometimes I literally smile when I listen to music these days. For their price they deserve some hype, they really do.
