How do I safely remove the base? The sliding cover came off and it is now useless to leave on.

You should be able to easily peel it off . Use rubbing alcohol to get amy sticker gummy residue off that area with a q-tip or to help pull it off easier .

Will these stick to my HP envy? The front is all glass

I have a older HP Pavilion, but the screen is all glass. It sticks with no issues so far. I don't cart it around much though, so I don't know if that would make a difference. They work well, and sure beat masking tape.
