E-flite Celectra 4-Port 1S 3.7V 0.3A DC Li-Po Charger EFLC1004 Air Field Equip & Electronics

I recently bought my first RC aircraft, the Blade Nano QX RTF (see separate review). It comes with one battery and a USB charger. Flight time is about 7 minutes on the single battery, and recharging time is 30-40 minutes. Do the math. If you want to fly for more than about 7 minutes without an extended break, you need at least 3 or 4 batteries and a means of charging more than one at a time. The Celectra 4-Port 1S 3.7V 0.3A DC Li-Po Charger fits this need perfectly. I've had it for a few weeks now, using it almost daily, and it's performed perfectly. It's simple to use - virtually idiot-proof. When you insert a battery to be charged, a corresponding red LED illuminates. As each battery nears its fully-charged state, the LED begins to blink. The blink rate slows and eventually stops, with the LED no longer illuminated, when the battery is fully charged. Each port allows the battery to be inserted in only one possible direction, so you can't get it wrong. Perfect: it's so simple, even I can use it. The only quibble I originally had was because I failed to realize that it doesn't come with a power supply. It operates on either 4 D cells or an optional AC adapter. In retrospect, this is perfectly reasonable, as some users will want one or the other, although many will want both. Neither option is expensive, but it's good to know in advance.

Nothing is worse than when you are having a great day of flying and run out of charged batteries. Those days are in the past with this 4 port charger. Works like a champ. Love how it has an auto cut off and charges each battery individually. Buy this and you won't be disappointed. This will greatly increase you flying time. It does have the ability to be plugged in to charge, but the charging cable is not included.

Charger works as advertised. Batteries charge in less than 15 minutes even when all ports are charging. This affords the opportunity for more flying time as batteries are being charged at the same time you are using them. I can get a good hour of flying time anjd not loose a lick. My only problem is that the powersupply and charger are sold separately and both a little high priced.

If you have a Nano QX or other product that uses the 1s battery, maybe you got hooked to the point where you bought a few extra batteries. Now you find yourself messing around with the little USB charger. Do yourself a big favor and get a Celectra charger. The AC adapter is a little pricey at $16, A good option is to get some rechargeable D cell batteries and a charger for them. For a few bucks more you have true portability and enough charging ability for any mission. If you have four batteries then you can just keep on flying. The time it takes to charge a battery is about the same as the run time of the other three, so you have unlimited battery power. In the winter, our RC club gets the high school gymnasium for some indoor flying. Having this capability makes for a no hassle flight session. Highly recommended !!

UPDATED: WARNING BLEW UP TWO BATTERIES USING RECOMMENDED CORD ETC. THIS UNIT IS UNSAFE I would like to have a different lightning notification for charged batteries. A blinking light meaning batteries are almost ready or still charging seems silly. Either a battery is fully charged, empty or at a voltage you want to store it at. The blinking light is useless. To find out if a battery is complete having to count up to 20 seconds seems as silly too. Why not just have the light go off or on if you are not using 2 colors when it has finished. Maybe this was an attempt to appear smart or high tech, I feel it dumbs the product down. Otherwise charger works well, I do not leave it alone however.

Ok... I have several small helo's and a new QX180. All using the one cell 500mah.... I didn't want to use batteries to charge batteries..too expensive and wasteful long term...soooo bought the ac adapter (not the "official" one, solved that problem... What is a bummer is ... I got the charger, all set to charge up my batteries...mine do not have the tiny pico white plug and they do not plug direct into the charger...if you are using the red JST connector on your Eflite's for instance..you will need an adapter... I bought 5 of them (package deal) didn't like having to do it...$12.49 ... so now, they plug into the charger, now I can plug in my batteries all at once... Again, charger works great now...but the cost to get the convenience I bought it for (charge 4 instead of 1 at a time) I had to buy an ac adapter....$8 and then 5 of those tiny adapter cables for another $12.50....so keep all this in mind when you consider which charger to get.

It might seem a bit pricey, especially when combined with external power supply (which I suggest you purchase). However, few products work as good as the E-flite Celectra. Plug in the battery and the recharger does the rest. No calculations or timers to worry about. The Celectra lives up to the standard of modern electronics, very user friendly. The only down side is the blinking LEDs. As the battery approaches full charge the LEDs blink indicating how much time is left. The closer to full the longer it takes for the LED to blink, which can exceed 30 seconds. So you may have to have a staring contest with it to make sure the battery is full.

After about 2 weeks of owning the Nano QX FPV, I was annoyed at the short flight time and the long charge time with a single USB charger. I opted to buy this charger and some aftermarket batteries. So far, it gave me an opportunity to fly the Nano 4 batteries at a time, while another set of 4 is sitting in the charger. Really like the fact that it charges each cell individually, not in parallel. I had a bunch of AC adapters and found one that is rated 5Volt at 1A. (It requires a 6v at 1.5A). Works fine.

This battery charger did not fit my requirements. This is not mains powered and does not fit my rechargeable batteries.

Schade das man das Netzteil extra bestellen muß, sollte eigentlich dabei sein, aber ansonsten ein gutes Ladegerät vor allem wenn man mehrere 1S Akkus laden möchte. 4 Stück auf einmal ist perfekt.

Da ich jede Menge 1S LiPos habe, musste ein Ladegerät her, das mehrere gleichzeitig laden kann. Das 4 Port Ladegerät von E-flite ist absolut einfach zu bedienen und läuft sowohl mit Batterien als auch mit Netzteil. Mit diesem Ladegerät macht man wirklich nichts verkehrt!
