I used to prep worn stained/previously varnished wooden kitchen cabinetsEasy to apply, cleaned well and very slightly etches surfaces that allowed touch up Minwax oil stain to take well and blend in with the existing finish color. Polyurethane clear applied a day later when stain dried. I have dine this work before but it was so much easier and better outcome after prep with this product. Krud-Cutter has many different products-I only found this one one line- you need this exact product. I will use again for similar jobs

Worked well as intended.
It definitely worked for my intended purpose. I did wanted to clean cabinets. To de gloss wasn't my initial intention. But found it was actually necessary for most of my cabinet doors. I had windows and doors open did not notice any odor. I think drying time was not that long, from cabinet door to door it was actually already dry. I did purchase two bottles used one and a portion of the 2nd 32oz. It was a good value and I thought it was a safe product to use.

Great for air vent prep and wooden doors
I wish this came with a spray nozzle! I used another bottle I had handy to spray the product onto doors I was going to paint, I waited 10-15 minutes and then cleaned it off. I do think it is best if you wipe it off with a wet rag and then let the surface dry again. It worked well on air vents as well. I still had to sand the doors to get the right look but overall, not a bad product!

Great product cuts time for paint projects
Prepares oil base paint surfaces to accept waterborne products without sanding. Clean the surface first with Krud Kutter cleaner degreaser.

Does not work on Urethane
If you want to remove gloss from polyurethane, save your money. Product label says that it wil work on polyurethane finishes. I followed the instructions nothing happened. I tried it again, no change. One more time, no luck. I used it on the upper portion of a walnut dash with 4 coats of polyurethane on it (see picture). I applied it to the upper part of the walnut dash in the picture. After 3 applications the gloss is exactly the same on the upper and lower parts. I will not purchase anything from this company again!
