Input level meter isn't even close. When setting a conservative level of -8 and NEVER making the -4 indicator light up, the resulting waveform clips badly. This cannot be detected by monitoring via the headphone jack - everything sounds just fine but you're recording garbage. You won't know you've got garbage until you pull the file into an editor. I formatted and tested both an SD card and a USB drive. They seemed to work just fine in tests. When I put the unit into production recording to both devices, the USB drive files became corrupt (see image). Even the file names themselves got written over with garbage. How did this unit even pass QA testing? It's junk. Denon will wants to "repair" the unit or send me a refurb to honor their warranty, but why would I even want it? I'll never buy anything from Denon again.

I've had my Denon DN-300R for about a week. The initial setup was a breeze. I have found the look and feel of this device to be sturdy and of good quality. My primary use will be to rip my viny collection. The auto track feature is pretty nice for this purpose though setting the dB level for triggering takes a bit of practice. Other reviews state that finding a suitable USB and SD card can be challenging- I agree. I had to try several different USB memory sticks before I finally found one that this unit will accept. I'd say that is a minor nuisance. Overall, I am happy with this product and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it (with the USB / SD caveat).

For sure it's worth the money. I gave it a good sound test and Wow! The bass and the rest of the instrumental sounds were recorded in such an amazing level - rich and clear. Now! As for a large size USB flash drive?? Forget it! Unit take a format of FAT32. So, buy yourself a USB Flash drive no BIGGER than 32G. Put it in your PC and format it into FAT32. And wham! It works. Larger size USB flash drive won't format at FAT32. Just Google it on formatting a USB into FAT32. Oh, the manual arrived in Chinese LOL. But I found the manual online. It's also easy to operate. Enjoy!

The device I received has a high pitched tone in recording at about 2.725 kHz with first harmonic at 5.45 kHz when recording at 48KHz/24-bit setting. This ends up in the recording even if there's nothing physically connected to the audio inputs. The customer support has been clueless. I sent it in for RMA and they sent it back to me with nothing fixed. I got another RMA, sent it in 2 months ago, and I'm still waiting. Overall it's been 5 months since I bought this unit. Don't waste your time with these people.
