We want to live loving, joyful, anxiety-free lives. Yet how can we live in grace when we’re so busy battling our old patterns of behavior? Jerry Bridges, author of Trusting God and Respectable Sins , explores the nine aspects of the “fruit of the Spirit” described in Galatians 5:22-23: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. These qualities of character can truly mark our lives if we devote ourselves to a twofold pursuit: God-centeredness and God-likeness. Jerry shows us how to practice the fruit in daily life. When The Fruitful Life first released, Jerry said, “It was the book I had wanted to write that included everything I forgot and/or learned since The Pursuit of Holiness .” Offering deep, biblical wisdom in a conversational style, this book includes: An exploration of our responsibility vs. God’s role in spiritual formation Practical advice for cultivating the godly character traits listed in Galatians A discussion guide for small groups or personal study Learn how to live a vibrant and abundant life through the power of the Holy Spirit. Review: Reflective! - I’m on chapter 3 and I love how much scripture is embedded throughout. Jerry does a great job in referencing scripture. This is my 3rd book from his series and the questions are very reflective compared to the other two books I’ve read. So far loving it and can’t wait to continue this book. Review: Great book about an essential topic in the lives of all Christians. A must read book! - Excellent book. This is a very important book for all Christians live a life that is pleasing to God and faithful to the Scriptures. The fruit of the Spirit is not given much attention by the church today, because many so called 'Christians' are so influenced by the world that it cannot be seen in them. Shame on the pulpits that accept a 'Christian life' that shows no fruit of the Spirit at all, not to harm the 'feelings' of today's 'Christians'. This is a very relevant book to be read by all 'Christians' to grow in the knowledge, fear, devotion, and love to our amazing God. A must read book. Reviewed by a Brazilian in Brazil.

Good book!
The book was great & had a ton of great nuggets. But, it didn’t have as much practicality as I would have desired. I did love the spiritual and biblical basis, as that falls in line with what I believe- but it was too “big picture” for me with little applicability. Overall, I would read again!

What a Blessing!
Reading this book with my husband has been such a blessing! The timing has been perfect as we have had some difficult challenges. Jerry Bridges as well as the Holy Spirit has helped us through these days and strengthened our need to draw on these fruit. We plan to start the book again as there is so much to glean.

Another Jerry Bridges Classic!
As a student of Jerry Bridges for the past 40+ years, this book was expectantly powerful. Identifying and diving into the nine traits of God’s Fruit was very insightful. Being guided through this treasury of “Fruit” gave deeper understanding to experience God’s most holy and majestic attributes displayed in my own life. This book will join the others by Bridges, Piper and MacArthur found impressionable and transformative within my book library. EnJOY the read, and be blessed in its application.

A Practical Read On Growing In Grace
This book is an ever so practical read on the Fruits of the Spirit and other essential Christian graces. Like his other books such as The Discipline of Grace and The Pursuit of Grace, his writing is ever so useful. This book is the definitive read on Christian growth.
