How do the supports stand on the hood if the hood has to be open to get to the motor? Description plainly says "two black supports stand on the hood"

The supports actually go inside the fenders when the hood is open. If you have a gap between the fenders and the subframe cut a block of wood to fill the gap wrapped in masking tape and it will support weight no problem.

Do you have to buy the two triangle supports separately? mine never came with any.

The manufacturer needs you to provide a photo of the product so that the manufacturer can solve the problem for you.

Will the lift hooks move left and right?
