Question 1

I have a hayward sp2610x15 super pump 1.5 hp pool pump ! which size is the right one for this pump (1.5hp) also my pool around 25000 gl ....

Accepted Answer

I would say a de6020 would work just fine. However if you don't want to deal with adding de to the filter after every backwash. I would recommend a cartridge filter not as fine a particulate filter as a DE filter but much easier to service in my opinion.

Question 2

I purchased the Hayward DE4820 and SP3400VSP Ecostar pump for my 20,000 pool. When priming, air escapes from manual valve in filter. Problem?

Accepted Answer

It is supposed to vent the air when priming the pump. When the filter pump housing is primed, the filter will fill with water and when full the vent will close automatically.

Question 3

Does Hayward honor their warranty on purchases from Amazon?

Accepted Answer

Hello M.J. If I recall correctly, a manufacture's warranty comes with the product and will be honored if purchases are made on Amazon.com; provided their shipped in the original packaging. The product I received was in the original packaging and I just needed to fill out the registration card, located on page 12 in the owners manual. For this specific product, Hayward offers a Limited Warranty for a period of one year from the date of purchase. This warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship for a period of one year. According to the warranty, you must provide proof of purchase; as this warranty applies to the original purchaser of the equipment. Since I purchased this product in May 2013, I have not had to report any warranty issues thus far.

Question 4

I have a de4820 i need to replace. i believe this to be the right unit, but "vertical grid" in title is throwing me off...de4820 is a de4820 right??

Accepted Answer

I'm not sure why they put that phrase in and yes, it is confusing. The only thing I can think of is that the filters run vertically. See this image. https://macromarketing2016.org/2017/09/how-to-clean-hayward-pool-filter/
