Used this to replace the broken one on my parents' xps P56F laptop.was simple enough to replace.**Note, there is a silver latch above where this part needs to be seated in (the one that has 3 screws).simply unfold the laptop and it will lift up for you. dont try to force it up as u may break other things.After this, simply remove the one screw holding the DC charping port in-place, then carefully undo the main connection and you're set!the one we had broke. and by broken i mean the little round plastic in the middle was no longer there exposing just 3-4 prongs.highly recommended. whether it lasts or not ive no clue (i just received it today). but it should be, at the very minimum, enough to get your important files backed up vs not being to turn your laptop on at all.

Perfect fit on Dell XPS15
My several year old Dell XPS15 has had a loose connection on the charge cord for some time, but recently it stopped charging altogether. This is not my primary laptop but is still used as my travel computer and for some other tasks so I need to save it if possible. After researching, I found that this was a common problem with the 4.5mm plugs and that the jack was the problem. Great since the jack is much less expensive than an new charger cord. Item arrived today and took maybe ten minutes to install, worked perfectly, and now my computer has fully charged. I can't speak to the longevity since it was just installed, but as this is a problem with the OEM dell jack, it it lasts a few years it was well worth the cost.

Not as hard to fix as I thought
While I don't mind a DIY project or two, laptops always seemed out of my league. When my Dell laptop starting charging inconsistently, and the jack seemed to be receding into the machine, I decided to try to fix it myself, as I was replacing it with a Macbook and my husband wanted to use it at work. It couldn't have been easier to fix. There are all kinds of Youtube videos that walk you through it, and the port fit perfectly. Back to charging!
