Great little welder!
I was very skeptical of this welder and that it could do the job for me. Using both 6013 and 7018, it has outperformed my expectations. A buddy of mine who is a certified welder, among other skills, agreed that this welder is a true bargain. I was welding on a beat up skid steer bucket. We both thought that I would have to patch the bucket up with 1/8" or 1/4" steel, somehow. Not at all. I just kept filling, filling and filling. The job itself was not easy because the bucket had many rips and tears in the steel. So I ground out what I had to and began the difficult and ugly job of trying to repair this bucket. The welder performed so good! The current Adjustment for it worked fantastic and I could easily control the heat. This welder truly is a bargain!

Great welder easy to start an ark anti stick feature works
Great welder easy to start an ark anti stick feature works perfectly. I was at it for hours before I finally had a rod stick and I've only welded a hand full of times zero experience was able to pick right up on it unlike the Chicago electric I've used before was really bad at starting and the heat had to be way up this little welder puts out some serious amps of power probably not the rated 140amp but I was in the 55-60amp range running on a 110v 15 amp gfi without tripping on a 20 amp circuit breaker for my garage Wich is dedicated. I fixed my jaw for my vise right away now it's by no means pretty it I've seen some nice work come from this welder on others review I suggest you but this stop looking around for a cheap reliable usable inverter welder. It's amp meter is said to be off but I find it to be pretty true without testing it with a meter. It's only con is it is really to small it's almost needs to be strapped down to prevent it moving when you pull out the leads fits in a standard laptop back or backpack can be ran on a 12ga extension cord if one needed to for small repairs. It's said to be able to run on a generator 4000 watt was recommended by manufacturer I bet it would run on a little 2000watt I have not tried it but the draw is surprisingly low now I was only welding bracket) Angle iron and the vise jaw was probably the thickest I tried running a 6013 3/32 rod I believe.

Good value, but has limitations
Let’s be honest, for what it costs shipped overnight, it’s not going to be unbelievably good. I fully tested it (metered it and everything). It’s definitely useable, and works good for what it is. The good: super portable/small, outputs a lot of power on 110, runs 7018 smooth, is pretty quiet, and has long leads. The bad: the amp reading display and the amp sticker on the knob are way off. When run on 110 volt set for 90 amps it does indeed put out 90 amps. When set for 130 on the display it outputs 115. On 220volts when set for 90 it outputs 115 amps. When set for 60 it outputs 75. When set for 140 it actually outputs 140 amps. So basically the only time the display and sticker are even close to accurate is at 90 amps when on 110 volt and 140amps on 220. I would have liked to see them just get rid of the display and have a accurate sticker. The other negative is it won’t run 6010 rods, the arc will go out consistently. It will run 6011 well. Open circuit voltage is 80 volts which is generally good for 6010 but it’s tough to keep it lit. I figured that wouldn’t work (despite their claims) so no surprise there. Basically if you have some small work to do around the home I don’t think you will be disappointed with it. 6013 and 7018 will run good. Just keep in mind the settings are off on the hot side. I am just going to sharpie ideal display settings based on voltage/rod diameter on the unit and use it anytime I need to burn a couple rods and don’t feel like dragging a bigger welder out. It will probably last a couple years of light duty (75-90 amp) use. Honestly I am pretty happy with the purchase. If they got the amp meter or chart dead on for atleast one voltage I would give it 5 stars.

Works Great for small work
I watched videos of the best small welders and this came up second best. I bought it and was completely surprised by it. Awesome welds using the 6011 rods. If you know why the rods have different numbers then trust me use the 6011 rods with this machine. Did several small jobs and I was blown away what this tiny machine can do.

Great for Beginners!
Just learning how to weld and this is a great starter machine! Easy to set up and was welding Tee-joints in about an hour. The welds were ugly but they held (used 3/32" 7018 at 110 amps). The amp meter seems accurate and consistent. For the $$ I am very pleased with this machine! UPDATE: Just tried using 1/8” 6013 rods (120 amps) and it was very smooth. I’m really loving this little machine! UPDATE #2: I spent the last 2 months churning out dozens of horseshoe holiday crafts and even did a project using 1/2" hardened steel plate mostly with 1/8" 6013 rods at 115amps using just 110 power. This little machine handled everything without skipping a beat... not a single hiccup! Never bogged down or over heated. I do turn it on and let it run for a minute before burning the first rod, and that seems to help minimize the initial ignition and rod sticking issues. In short, this has been super fun to use and has already paid for itself!!

Great tool to have around.
For a cheap, tiny, extremely portable stick welder this thing is great. I haven't used it on 220V but it does a fine job on 120V. I had 6" ID steel pipe with 3/8" wall thickness driven for a boat lift. After rough cutting the pipe to the required height with circular saws I used this welder to build up the low spots to make the top level (much easier than grinding the high spots down). I ran this little machine off a 120v 15a breaker and GFIC outlet and 225ft of extension cords. My air compressor wouldn't even start on anything over 100 ft of extension cord. I burned probably 25-30 3/32" E6011 rods (what I had on hand) on ~ 65a while building up some areas as much as 1/2". This welder handled it no problem- no tripped breakers or high temp shutdowns- in fact the only time it quit was when the end of the extension cord fell in the water and tripped the GFIC.

When I seen it; I didn’t think it was possible to weld like the reviews had said and I almost thought the reviews were probably made up and maybe done by some robot type scam…; but man was I wrong!!!! This thing is absolutely amazing and did an amazing job!!! I’m new to welding and actually never used a stick welder in my life; my buddy who has his red seal or his ticket in welding had agreed to teach me and I didn’t want to spend a lot of money because I didn’t know if I’d even like welding yet so I figured for the price; if I don’t like it, I didn’t waste too much money…. Well my buddy who has his ticket had already taught me to weld with Mig and Flux Core and I liked that so when this thing arrived; we both started laughing thinking it would never perform close to what the reviews suggested but when we tried it, him and myself were absolutely blown away!!! If I wasn’t bald it would’ve blown my hair back I was in that much awe!!! Him as well his shop is set up with four different welders and they’re all the big brand named stuff like Miller and Lincoln and stuff that he spent thousands and thousands of dollars to be set up with but this little thing did just as good a job as anything he had and he himself fell in love with it!!!! He actually owns multiple service trucks in the Oil Sands in Alberta and has three different red seals or tickets including the one for welding but this thing is so small that it can slide underneath the truck seat and with a 2500-3000 watt generator could probably be used anywhere even if you needed it way out in the woods for something that broke because we tried it with 7108 rods and we used the 3/32 and the 1/8 rods and it worked amazingly great for both!!! We did the 1/8th rods on a 240 volt plug but the 3/32 on a 120 volt plug and it was a 15 amp plug and we ran it at 100 amps for the 3/32 and like I said; I’m just starting and it was actually my first weld with a stick welder and I’ll add a couple of pictures to show you the beads we ran…; in the picture with the beads in it; his two beads are on the right hand side of the picture and my two beads for someone who never even held a stick welder before are on the left side of the picture… I’ll also add a couple of pictures of the size of it so you can use the rings beside it as a reference for its size! There’s one picture of me actually welding with it that I didn’t know he took but we both agree this is definitely the real deal and he too is actually buying one for under the seat of his truck too lol…. We ran the 1/8 rods at 80 amps plugged in to a 240 and the 3/32 rods on 100 amps plugged in to a 15 amp breaker on 120 volts regular plug… I’m thinking a good solid 20 amp plug would do the 1/8 rods as well but haven’t tried yet and the picture of the four welding beads I spoke about were the 3/32 rods ran on 100 amp plugged in to a regular 15 amp plug for a regular 120 volt panel…. Can’t say enough about how impressed we both were but it’s new so will see about the longevity of it but I’m definitely very happy with the purchase and would definitely recommend for someone who wants to try welding but has no idea if they’ll want to keep doing it and don’t want to spend a fortune to find out; this is a no brainer to try it for this price and I’m positive you’ll find welding is very nice and hopefully like it as much as I did also…. And to top it off; I didn’t feel that comfortable with the style of welding electrode holder that came with it because he had different ones for his machines and I kind of liked them and mine didn’t feel safe to me and I thought it wasn’t holding the rod tightly enough and I talked with customer service and they immediately reimbursed me enough of my purchase price of it so I could buy the other kind which held better in my opinion so they’re very decent and good to deal with but after the fact, my buddy showed me that it wasn’t the electrode holder but the way I was using it so it turns out that there wasn’t an actual issue after all and I contacted them and explained that it was my mistake and their product was fine but they didn’t want the rebate back they gave me anyways so hard to beat that kind of service and just wow!!! What a wonderful little tiny machine that works just as good as any big name welder you could imagine!! Would definitely suggest buying this to anyone; hands down a simple no brainer! Just do it!

Honestly super impressed and a little blown away by this stick welder. I got this unit on sale 50% off. It paid for itself with the first repair I performed. I used 3/32 6013 rod and settled on 60A for my application. Crazy how smooth and easy it is to use. If you're on the fence get it, you won't be disappointed, especially if you can snag it for the sale price.
