Pandigital PANLAMP01 LED Desk Lamp (built-in night light)

Experience:As a college student, this is a great lamp especially if you have little desk space and poor lighting. The awesome feature about this lamp is that is can fold down when you are not using it and takes up a small corner of your desk. It seems people have been stressing the lamp brightness (or lack thereof) which made me hesitant in buying this at first, but there are no problems with brightness. I actually think anything brighter would hurt my eyes. It does get pretty warm when on for an extensive period of time, but I wouldn't really say it gets hot.Night Light:It's like a bonus. Just don't get this lamp exclusively for its night light feature. It helps when you're watching a movie on the computer and you still want to see the keyboard to chat or something.Look and Feel:The matte texture of the neck and stand is finely grained (for those of you who own a Playstation 2 or 3, it feels like that), and the head is a glossy black. A pretty minimalist and modern design--it looks very professional.Pros:-The light is diffused uniformly unlike other LED lamps with a cone of light.-Low-profile and detachable power cord. It resembles a phone charger.-Decent price. Although it looks like the price went up a little since I bought it, if you're looking for a good quality LED lamp (especially on Amazon) for a good price, this might be your best bet. Lamps are expensive ):Possible Cons:-When opening and folding the lamp, it may be a little stiff.-For some reason the power cord plugs into the top-back of the lamp. The cord can be tucked behind the neck.-Which brings up another con: the back of the neck is open/hollow. This makes the lamp in the picture look nicer than it really is, but don't get me wrong, its a nice lamp and the plastic is thick.

I purchased this lamp to light up my computer desk and I love it! It matches my glossy black monitor, printer, and tower perfectly and the modern look is very cool! If you expect this lamp to light the entire room this one isn't for you. It lights up an area on your desk enough to help you see your keyboard, or read from a book, or jot down a few notes. If you don't want to disturb others in the room by turning on ceiling lights, or table lamps, this one does the job well. Another cool feature is when this lamp is not being used you can adjust the light part of the lamp down to free up a little space. On the box, the manufacturer claims that this lamp uses 80% less energy than an incandescent light, and the LED lights have a lifespan of 36,000 hours.

I first saw this lamp on the desk of a colleague who was also the head of an electrical engineering department. I purchased two lamps over a year ago, one for my home office and one for my office at school. I am not a big fan of room lighting, so a good desk lamp is important to me. I like the lamps very much. The design looks great and does a very nice job of illuminating the keyboard of my laptops. The night light is also a nice feature, so I can leave on a little light in my offices. My only complaint is that it cannot really be used for illuminating my entire desk from the side and thus blocks the view of my students when they come for office hours. Of course, lighting up my whole desk would take more light and more power, so this is a better approach to save energy.

Great lamp and lighting atmosphere. I love the nightlight feature, its like having a candle that doesn't flicker. I'm very happy with this lamp and love the black piano gloss finish. So easy to dust and clean, at the same time it takes up so little desk space that I highly demand (Gotta have my elbow room). I have had this lamp for over a couple of months and no defects in the construction. Well built and I foresee that this lamp will last a long time. My only question is...are the LED bulbs replaceable? I'll need to check the manual if it came with one. I mean I took this lamp out of the nice box it came in and plugged it in. Who needs directions for that? If indeed it has replaceable bulbs, I will share that information in the future. Love it!

This is an extremely beautiful lamp. Even the box containing it had an elegant shape, and I was really excited to open it when I saw the slim figure of the lamp. However, two fundamental problems exist.First, the light is not bright enough. This wouldn't be much of the trouble if you can better adjust the angle; however, as I will mention below, it does not fully cover the big textbook. Second, which relates to the first problem, is that you can't adjust the angle of the light. You can only vertically lift the neck from 0 degree angle to up; you can't twist it left or right. You might have the same urge as I did to breake it a bit to better light the book...The switch to turn it on/off is another disappointment as well, as it feels fragile and cheaply made. I am probably going to keep this as I already have another lamp, but serioously consider the brightness issue plus its angle problem before you buy it.

I was actually really disappointed in the lamp... There is no dimmer, and it is actually tiring to read with it. I am a MBA student and have endless readings every night, I was looking for the perfect lamp and found it at Home depot + incandescent globe + a dimmer (you can't buy a dimmer for LED at a descent price). I am really really happy about this new lamp and i gave the LED lamp to a friend who was interested by its design.

This is my second such lamp because the quality of light makes the colors of my jewelry true and makes the detail work easier to do. I also take the lamps to craft shows to illuminate my work and it highlights the shine in the fine glass and crystal pieces. The way the lamp folds maks it easy to pack and the amount of space it occupies is small. It doesn't ruin the aesthetics of my display because it is an attractive lamp with a relatively small footprint. The base is offset from the light so I can have the light over my jewelry and the base out of the way.I would suggest you shop around on prices. I got mine on Amazon for $29.99 so the price can range as low as that to as high as $120 for the same lamp.

Very stylish. Not super bright, but its perfect for me. My wife can sleep a few feet from the desk, but I have plenty of light to type and read at my desk. Plus turns on instantly, no florescent light noise. LEDs are also highly efficient. No batteries, just plugs into the wall.
