The quietest bass drum pedal
I own a Roland SPD-SX Pro that I use for practicing in my apartment. I am able to play even late at night with headphones or with my amplifier set to low volume. The KT-9 is excellent for drummers who live in apartments with neighbors who live above, below, and next door. The only adjustment you have to live with is that you lose the โslap backโ feeling from your foot triggering the bass drum. If you have to have that โslap backโ feel of hitting the bass drum, then I would recommend that you buy the Roland KT-10, which would give you that. The sacrifice is that the KT-10 will be noisy if youโre playing late at night and the neighbors might hear you and complain.

Awesome trigger but kind not the best "feeling" kick pedal
Great pedal I returned for it did not feel liek a real kick pedal which the KT10 does (at a small price for its makes a bit of noise, not as much as if you had a real beater hitting a trigger on floor, but the KT9 is silent but feels liek a trigger, K10 can make the foot feel its hitting a real beater, thats why its on my used lookout list.

A more quiet option for apartment kick drumming.
I didn't know exactly what to expect when I made this purchase. First off, I'm not a drummer, but I needed a kick trigger for my Alesis Strikepad. I considered several options, but decided to go with this one because I live in an apartment, and decided that having a "beaterless" option would be more ideal to keep the noise down. It still makes noise when you step on it, but it's not that noticeable (i.e no complaints from the neighbors). The connections are very straight forward: a 1.4 inch cable (not provided) runs from the pedal's only output into whichever input you're using it as a trigger for. The build quality is very solid and durable. I don't have any reference point to compare it to other drum pedals, but it can take aggressive stepping. No issues with it not showing up in DAWs (ableton11 is what I used). It comes with a device that allows you to adjust the pressure you feel when pressing down on it, but I got frustrated attempting to install it correctly so I learned to work around it.

No more noise complaints
Got a noise complaint from my downstairs neighbors as soon as I got an electric drum set. Figured out the noise being transmitted was almost entirely from the beater of my normal bass drum pedal hitting the electric trigger pad. I was skeptical that a beaterless pedal would that much quieter and was dead certain it couldnโt feel anything like a real pedal. Roland proved me wrong. Feels great, is super quiet, and havenโt gotten a single noise complaint from my neighbors after buying a KT-9. Update: just bought a second KT-9 kick trigger pedal and can now play double bass for the first time.

Good stuff.
A little pricey, but seems built to last. I removed one of the springs (as mentioned in the included manual) to reduce the tension and make it floppier, which I'd recommend. The toe rest is great, too, especially for ghost notes.

Solid construction but was missing โincludedโ cable
This pedal has a very solid metal construction, and was easy to set up to my SPD-SX Pro. However the โincludedโ V-Drums cable was not included in the box, so my first step was to reach out to Roland support online and submit a parts request. Update: 11 days after delivery of the pedal, I received a cable from Roland.
