What is the success rate with the powered anode rod? We have tried aluminum-zinc with no luck. We have well water with a softening system.

I have treated well water (whole house filtration and softener). The hot water smelled like hard-boiled eggs. I installed the Corro-Protect and flushed the water heater. 24 hours later, the sulfur smell is 100% eliminated. My magnesium rod was only a month old and the sulfur smell was moderate to strong. The Corro-Protect has impressed me so far.

Will this work with a hot water heater attached to a water softener?

I have a water softener and actually went with this product rather than replacing it with an aluminum/zinc anode based on some research I had done. Has been working fine for me for a couple months now.

Will this work for a 65 gallon gas Bradford white hot water heater?

My 75 gallon gas fired Bradford White heater has a separate port for the anode rod like those of other makers. It is NOT recessed within the hot water connection, so does not need the special model with the extra plumbing. If you have a B W heater, take a look at the top to see whether yours has such an accessible anode.

Anyone know if this will fit an AO Smith water heater?

I installed this on my AO Smith yesterday (8/9/2020). It fit with about an inch and a half of the rod remaining above the tank. It doesn't sit flush to the top of the tank like the sacrificial rod did. I tightened it down with a 31mm socket. After 24 hours, the sulfur smell is completely gone and the rectifier light remains a solid green. Granted, it's only 24 hours...I'm impressed with this so far.
