Great little diverter.

It's pretty solid but the lack of any marks for diverting from one valve to the other made it hard to use. Immediately after installing it, it tested fine, but months later, it was hard to select the correct valve and then it started leaking. I uninstalled it and it looked like the flat washer had turned and folded. I purchased a different valve diverter.

I got this nice shower kit with a rainfall shower head that came with a hand-held shower piece. The problem is, I didn't realize that the kit was meant for a shower only set up. My bath has a garden bathtub with the pull on top of the tub faucet that diverts the water to the showerhead. What I'm trying to say is in order to use both the rainfall showerhead AND the hand-held piece (since I could not install the shower only parts in the kit) I needed a diverter to screw in between the rainfall showerhead and the hand-held shower piece so I could change over from one to the other. Had I wanted to spend several hours changing over the tub into just a shower (by tearing out the wall to change the fixtures), this piece would not be necessary. As it is, my set up works just as I need it to with this diverter and it was an easy fix so that I can stand under that large, relaxing rainfall showerhead and let it take my muscle aches away and then flip the little knob to the hand-held to get the suds off when I'm into the cleaning part of my shower. BTW, my shower pieces are matte black so this was perfect!

Installed this valve with the Teflon tape that came with it. The joints leaked and sprayed water everywhere. Disassembled and replaced the Teflon tape with better quality tape, but upon tightening the nut, it cracked so the valve is no longer usable. A nut that breaks that easily is certainly an indicator of poor quality metal. I also noticed that the so-called "brass" had a rust spot on it. This valve had only been installed for less than a week and real brass is not supposed to rust! I should have paid closer attention to the other negative reviews on this product.

PIA to install since it's tough to get a wrench of any sort into a good position in order to tighten. I imagine most anything with this design would be the same though. Biggest issue is how long the seller took to ship it. Print a label then take your time giving it to USPS? That's pretty lame. I came close to cancelling the order over that bit of time wasting.
