The FASTENER BLACK BOOK is a Technical Fastener Resource Book consolidating the abundance of Fastener information into a easy-to-read and convenient user friendly format. Whether you are a Designer, Engineer or looking to understand Fasteners better, the Fastener Black Book is an invaluable tool for Apprentices, Trainees, Tradesmen, Machinists, Machine Shops, Tool Rooms, Technical Colleges, Fabricators, Sheet Metal Workers, even simply as a gift to a colleague. Review: Great reference book. - Great reference book with a ton of information. A bit pricey but worth it. Review: Solid book, small size for being handy but not so small it is difficult to read, good combination - This book has sensible torque values and a lot of other good data, detailed and thorough. Especially regarding 18-8 stainless steel which is very often given with values that are way too high. Even Harley Davidson ran into this mess of misreported torque values which have been narrowed down to incorrect material properties. 304/18-8 stainless steel in bar or wire form is a very ductile/gummy material for use as a fastener which is supplied in the annealed state, having a yield strength below even Aluminum 6061-T6. Great engineering, machine shop or garage reference book, including materials details & parameters, coatings allowances, etc. Not a cheap purchase, but very well done and worth the investment. The pages are wax? coated so they will stand up to much more than what Machinery's Handbook ever would. Highly recommended. My company should buy a book for every engineer and machinist. Most engineers these days will use Google or some other junk resource and end up breaking screws and bolts on a regular basis.

Excellent Product and Transaction
The book is reasonably priced and an excellent summary reference on both English and Metric standard fasteners as well as related information, and contains an amazing amount of information in a very compact format. Additionally, the pages are laminated in plastic so they can be wiped clean in a workshop environment, and the purchase price includes what looks like a laser-cut aluminum thread pitch identification chart to help with that task. I bought the book as an engineering reference for mechanical design activity, would recommend it to anyone that needs in-depth information on the subject. I'll be looking for more "Black Book" titles, kudos to the author and publisher!

Review of 1st edition black book
After researching I found that what I really wanted was a 1st edition Black Book, as it has both Imperial and metric information in it. Looked like the new editions didnโt incorporate the two. A lot of very good information in here and was even interesting reading through it. Even comes with a ruler. Highly recommend.

Bloody Good
Exhaustive, very informative (non-engineer reviewer). I keep it in the workshop and refer to it regularly. Also the included thread pitch ruler thing was great.
