'A Latin American James Dean or Jack Kerouac' Washington Post 'It's true; Marxists just wanna have fun... a revolutionary bestseller' Guardian At the age of twenty-three, Ernesto 'Che' Guevara and his friend Alberto Granado set out from their native Argentina to explore their continent, with only a single 1939 Norton motorcycle to carry them, nicknamed La Poderosa ('the powerful one'). They travelled not to visit the usual tourist attractions, but to meet ordinary people and understand Latin American life. In amidst the tales of youthful adventures - of women, wine, thrilling escapes and the power of friendship - the young Che also learns first-hand about poverty, philosophy and philosophy and forms himself into the man who would become the world's most famous and admired revolutionary and freedom fighter. 'For every comic escapade of the carefree roustabout there is an equally eye-opening moment in the development of the future revolutionary leader. By the end of the journey, a politicized Guevara has emerged to predict his own legendary future' Time Review: Wonderful - Wonderful Review: Good for new book readers - If you are a travel enthusiast, you will definitely like this book. A short read but a good one.

Dr. Ernesto Che Guevara de la Serna
One should know How Dr. Ernesto Che Guevara sacrificed his comforts to fight for the oppressed, and to share the equality among all. He dreamt. He thought of better lives for all, without any imperialism or imperialistic forces which subjugate the poor and weak. Although Che may be gone, but his legacy and ideas wonโt be killed by any bullet. He will live forever and ever~ The Symbol of Resistance, as Che said: โ Where there is injustice, that is my Homeโ. Long live Comandante ๐ซก

It's a journey
This book is like a journey of a man idealized throughout the world as a revolutionary. You know him better as well as the continent when you read his journey throughout latin america from Argentina northward. When you read him you imagine yourself in his place. The hardships and the worldview - you see them.

Great book about a great adventure
The words 'epic' and 'icon' get bandied around a lot these days, to the point where they become devalued it seems. However, Che Guevara is certainly an icon and the ride described in this book is nothing other than an epic. it now has pride of place in the library here at Farkham Hall Stores in Chepstow. Customers can leaf through it while choosing their motorcycle accessories, parts and clothing. I hope that will inspire them to go home and buy their own copy.

Probably not what you are expecting, try it: you won't be disappointed
Amazing insight into a man everyone thinks they 'know', but in reality, there's so much that most of us don't know. At this stage of his life anyway, I found his observations on life, society, human interaction immensely insightful. It is written in a very accessible way: at times hilarious, only for you to turn the page and get slapped with a dose of historical reality. I strongly recommend this book to everyone as an observation class, whatever you may think of his later life politics.
