How many times should the ear plugs be used before disposing of them?

I used to re-use them and then was getting ear infections. My doctor said to never use them more than once.

This may be a silly question but how noise proof are they? Will I be able to hear my alarm clock?

Absolutely! I have been using this product for years now. Its blocks tv, snoring, barking, and other annoying background noise when your trying to sleep. As long as my alarm clock is close to me...perhaps bedside table...you can still hear it.

A reviewer from 2011 wrote they had changed the design and it is is worse. so is this now back to the original version before that change?

These are less dense and less effective since I bought them in the fall of 2019. They are hardly effective at all anymore. I wish they had not changed these because they used to be awesome. I will not be buying these again.

I can't say what is different with other purple ear plugs. What I can say is that the Flent Qiuet Time variety are very soft/comfortable to wear, easy to insert as the stay compressed long enough to get the plug seated in the ear canal. And they do block most of the sound.
