GooGoo Clusters Pecan Candy Bar - 12 Count Case

I had never heard of these before but when I recently passed through Nashville, TN the local Walgreen store had boxes of them on sale. When I read the box I saw they were made in Nashville (I'm originally from Boston and live in Pittsburgh). So I bought two 3-count boxes to bring back to Pittsburgh. I still didn't know what they were and thought they were more of a moon pie type treat. When I opened the box I saw that they were very large chocolate covered nut clusters. With the first bite I was hooked and had wished I bought many more boxes when I was at that Walgreens. I had bought the peanut butter ones which were excellent. I then went on the Goo-Goo website and saw that they were a Southern tradition and currently made 3 different types--original, peanut butter and supreme which are covered with pecans. I bought a 12 count box of the supreme and thoroughly enjoy them. They are extremely delicious and you can tell they are made with quality ingredients and are not too sugary sweet. You can really taste the chocolate and the pecans. I noticed with the peanut butter ones you can really taste the peanut butter. Once I finish the box of supremes I'll definitely try the original variety. I am now hooked!

During the holidays, we put together gifts of Southern foods for offices/groups and always include goo-goos and moonpies (smaller size versions when possible). People can have fun giving them away in their offices or eat them occasionally themselves. A fun and tasty gift)-- and the goo-goos do contain nuts so healthy that way). Would not give these to a 300 lb friend but for active, healthy weight folks, not a bad gift. Fun for you, a nice treat for them and something they can also give away during the holidays. For a more elegant chocolate- Southern Artisan made in Nashville is great but $$$ and hard to send enough for whole office to enjoy.

Ordered for my Dad's birthday and delivered to him. Due to temps and delivery to a parcel locker, the candles were melted globs. I contacted the seller and they made it right. Awesome customer service and fast. Thank you!! I remember my Dad loving these when I was a kid. Usually the peanut option is what was found here. My sister mentioned these a few months back and Dad commented that he never saw them anymore. So just before his birthday, I ordered the pecan, thought they were 'fancier '... he is really enjoying them and sends me pics. I'll keep these in mind for Christmas too. They were a hit!

I lived in Nashville, TN for 20+ years. I thought I would retire and die there, but fate and a change of careers ruled that out. Standard Candy Co, which makes Goo Goo Clusters, originally made them only with peanuts, and I will admit they were pretty good. When they came out made with pecans and called Goo Goo Supreme, there was joy because they were truly well-named! But they were rare for me with moves to different states where the candy was unobtainable. The ones then: quality milk chocolate, spectacular marshmallow, gooey generous caramel and lovely halves of pecans. Now: renamed Goo Goo Pecan, have 3rd class, gritty chocolate, no marshmallow - no clue what the white stuff in them is, but it sure is not marshmallow - a small amount of caramel - I think - and some bits that could be defined as nut. Ingredients listed do not include pecans, and indeed the nuts are listed as the very last ingredient as peanut. This was for me a very disappointing buy that I will NOT be repeating.

Goo Goo's have been around for a long time. Always liked the Pecan/ Supreme better. Kind of like big turtles. Quality product.

This box of Goo Goo Clusters was a hit or miss. Half were stale and inedible and the other half were fresh, good, chewy and delicious. I had to ask Amazon for a refund of my order cos they weren't up to the standards that I expect products I buy from Amazon to be. Amazon took care of the problem immediately and refunded my money promptly. The Goo Goo Clusters Supreme that WERE good in this package were just as good as I remember them: Gooey, chewy, sweet, marshmallowy, full of caramel and full of that great sugar rush and calorie density you expect from Goo Goo Clusters!
