Generic New 1Pc Black Metal Practice Butterfly Comb Style Knife Trainer Tool

This trainer is actually really good it surprised me but I do want to warn you the screws do become loose after while there’s one side with star keys and the other side is Alan. It’s very durable I have dropped it on the concrete many times, Week two now and it has held up. I also like how they printed a fake BenchMade Mark on it lol, overall very good for price.

Very well-made. It might be cheap in price, but it feels and weighs like a real butterfly knife that I remember from back in the 80s when I was a teenager playing around with them. My 11-year-old made one the other day out of Legos and he was flipping it around, trying to look cool. I felt bad for him because it obviously wasn’t as functional so I found this product and ordered it for him to play with. I don’t let him take it to school, but even if he did, I don’t think you get in trouble… Hopefully.

My son has been learning the butterfly knife and has advanced greatly over time. I say this and thought it would be a fun gift for him. When it came in it said Benchmade on the box (which I doubt) and the arms were too tight to swing freely. I lubricated and worked the joints until it opened up and could be used as intended. For those of you who practice, the tines of the comb in this one were actually snake-hand when you hold the handle properly, but it's a comb so it doesn't matter really. I would have given this 3 stars because of how tight it came (the the screws were not able to be adjusted), but I added an extra star because of how much my son LOVES his new comb. Bottom line- fun novelty that requires some effort to be workable.

It would be a great trainer if there wasn’t an annoying safety mechanism. I’m all for safety, but this trainers mechanism is a small strip of metal that can connect the two handles and prevent the blade from coming out accidentally. Problem is, it’s loud/sqeaky and will get in the way of your tricks. Since it is just swinging there freely, while the blade is in motion it will sometimes swing back and get in the way of the handles closing as shown in the second picture. There also doesn’t seem to be an easy way to get it off.

This broke after just opening it once. It was absolutely not made well. My husband threw it away before I could return it so whatevs. But I did want to warn others.

I pulled it out in a court room to make sure I was looking my best for the judge and immediately was tackled by an officer and tazed by another. They didn’t even give me a chance to explain because it could do all the tricks and everything. They didn’t even notice it was a comb until after I got to ride in a police cruiser. Definitely would buy another one because they confiscated mine.
