Sleek, elegant, and keeps your AVR cool!
Got this one because it was cheaper than the one with the temperature reading. I figured I need the Aircom S10 because my AVR is in the entertainment stand, and has been getting fairly warm. Ever since I put this on top of my AVR, it blows nothing but cool air. This one also has an auto feature and all you have to do is plug it in to the power strip; very easy to install! It will turn on, off, and adjust the fan speed automatically. It looks sleek and is pretty low profile. This product is also very quiet at every level, except for the max setting. It does such a good job that it doesn’t need to go that high, and it’s not loud enough to hear over your movie/tv show anyway. Your HVAC unit will probably be louder than this fan.

Cooled Amp as if It Was Not Even Powered On!
** EDITED REVIEW MAY 7, 2022: After using for 1 year, the Aircom S10 continues to impress. I did make one change, however, to the settings below. The change was to set the device to Mode=Auto/Fan=Low. The reason for the change is that I kept forgetting to turn the fan off manually when set to Mode=On/Fan=Low. I also had the occasion recently to check for dust build-up, and I am happy to say the amount was minimal - the fact of which I attribute to the low fan speed setting. ** MODEL PURCHASED: S10 (w/front exhaust) COOLING SETTINGS USED: "Mode=On/Fan=Low" TRICK TO GET FAN SPEED LIGHT TO TURN OFF: Press and hold Mode/Power button (far left while facing unit) for 3+ seconds, then release and wait a few seconds for fan speed light to turn off. When the fan light is "Off" it is truly invisible behind the faceplate bezel, as you can easily see (or not see!) for yourself in the attached pictures. MODE/POWER LIGHTS REMAIN ON: The mode lights - which double as "Power=On" lights - will remain lit depending on mode selected. However, they are not overly bright. In my case, using the "On" mode, only the very tiny white light remains lit. I did not find it distracting. TRICK TO TURN UNIT OFF: Press and release the Mode/Power button to cycle through the modes to reach power off state. In my case, 4 presses are required to reach power off state. AMP USED: Twenty-plus year old NAD 906 Multi-Channel Amplifier with three separate (and very large) power supplies, and six discrete/bridgeable channels. The NAD 906 amp was advertised as having "high quality, high temperature" components. Inside there is a lot of chunky metal, so to speak, that not only produces its own heat but also holds any heat around it. Most significantly the amp has no fans, which is a tip-off it was designed and built for consistent performance at high levels of heat. However, when considering the massive amounts of chunky metal inside, it is clear that the 906 would shed heat very efficiently with any kind of increased air movement across any of the metal, especially the large heat sinks. AMP DUTIES: 4-channel Atmos/DTS-X amplification of "Dolby-enabled" Height 1 and Height 2 speakers line-out signals from NAD 758 v3i receiver. (Note: On the NAD 906 amp, I employed two channels on far right of chassis and two channels on far left of chassis to widen heat distribution/dispersion.) AMP PLACEMENT: Cabinet shelf, two 2" holes in cabinet back cover, open front, no other electronics in same shelf or above/below. SEE BELOW for AMP TEMPERATURES at VARIOUS AMP STATES (Note: Measurements taken at center/top of amp cover, and room temperature is 75f average): With Fan NOT In-place/NOT In-use (i.e. prior to purchase): 77f - Amp Off (TV, lamps, and exterior wall by cabinet create ambient heat increase 2f higher than room average) 94f - Amp On/Idling, RCA inputs from receiver not active 111f - Amp On/Idling, RCA inputs from receiver active but w/no signal (strong "Class A" bias?) 120f - Amp On, temp after 140min movie w/Atmos content ("Ready Player One") With Fan IN-PLACE/IN-USE but removed for measurements AFTER MOVIE: 77f - After movie, amp immediately turned off, fan immediately removed, amp temp immediately measured after 140min movie w/Atmos content ("Ready Player One") 85f - Amp left off, fan still removed, and temp measured after 20 minutes 86f - Amp left off, fan still removed, and temp measured after 40 minutes PERFORMANCE/TESTING CONCLUSION: The AIRCOM S10 performed beyond expectation, using low and quiet air flow to keep my amp at 77f while in normal use, which is as cool as it is when powered off. To give some credence to the above active cooling effect's astonishing measurement of 77f, you can see from my other measurements that the heat increased (as expected) after the amp was off and the moving air's wicking effect was removed. Still the amp's heat had only increased to 86f after 40 minutes. I am confident leaving the fan on for 5-10 minutes after the amp has been powered off would wick away most if not all the residual heat from the sinks. To be fair, the amp is not cluttered inside, has enough slits in the top and bottom shrouds to easily call them screens, uses very large heat sinks that allow for amazingly quick heat conduction, and the movie was not overly loud. OPERATIONAL TESTING/CONCLUSION: I did not want to wait for the amp to reach the mid- to high-80's before the fan would automatically turn on, so I avoided all of the S10's automatic settings. In my testing, and now ongoing use, I decided to just manually turn it "On" at its lowest setting (which is very quiet) when I started watching a movie, and thus it would always stay many degrees ahead of the amp. Said another way, by turning the fan on at the same time I begin using the amp, the fan would not have to "play catch-up" with the amp if the amp had been allowed to get hot, first. I work with huge servers in datacenters (and have my own computers) and, in my opinion and based on experience there is no real benefit - aside from convenience, which will understandably be the winning feature to others - to waiting for a fan to do its job later rather than sooner. Now, what I will do differently in the future - distinct from my measurement process above - is let the fan run for a little while after the amp is turned off. VALUE CONCLUSION: With over 20+ years under the belt of my NAD 906, the AIRCOM S10's outstanding ability to remove heat from that hot-running amp will only help it remain stable and useful longer than otherwise. And the cost of the AIRCOM S10 is far, far less expensive than buying a new amp of similar quality.

An Absolute Must Have For Legacy & New Stereo Receivers & Amplifiers
I purchased an Aircom S9 to keep a recently repaired, near 30 year old JVC RX-905V cool after spending $150 to rebuild the power supply board after the low voltage capacitors on it blew and caused it to fail. Some people may (rightfully) question why anyone would spend that much to repair a 30 year old receiver instead of putting that money towards a new receiver. All I can say is, my JVC RX-905V is spotless, without imperfection and has served my now old ears very well for many years. Paired up with four Boston Acoustics CR-9's and an M&K 500w Subwoofer, it puts out music that my ears absolutely love and have been unable to find in any of the new, high-end units I tried. To even try and replace the features, functionality and sound it has with something else would mean spending well over $1,000. So replacing my receiver wasn't an option. So one day after getting my receiver back from the shop and feeling how hot it was getting, I happened to type "stereo cooler" in the search box here on Amazon Shopping. What?! There's such a thing?? Show me! And up popped the Aircom series of coolers with a lot of five star ratings. I read well over one hundred of them and placed my order. When my Aircom S9 arrived I quickly unpacked it, set it on top of my stereo, followed the easy peasey setup guide and turned my stereo on. I tried the automatic settings on the S9 letting the thermal settings cool my beloved JVC RX-905V and manually setting the fans to 3/4 speed to keep it cool. Both worked equally well and I ended up letting the thermal sensing control the cooling for my receiver. Now, I did have a small issue with the initial unit that I received from Amazon. The power supply ("wall wart" in amateur radio speak) generated a TON of RF noise which made receiving FM or AM radio signals on my receiver impossible. I contacted both Amazon and Aircom about the issue. Amazon's response was to ship a new unit right away. Not exactly what I wanted because I considered it a waste to ship an entire new unit when a replacement power supply would suffice. Aircom responded to my email inquiry within two hours and was profusely apologetic about the issue. They offered to send a new power supply (which is what I wanted) right away, all that I needed to supply to them was my Amazon order#. Amazon had already shipped a new unit so I opted to wait before proceeding with Aircom and informed them of such. I received a new Aircom S9 from Amazon and installed it quickly. I discovered the replacement has the exact same issue as the original and as I emailed the nice folks at Aircom about, their 1250mw power supply for their device puts out far too much heat in too small of a space and creates a lot of RF interference wiping out AM and FM reception due to lack of proper shielding. Since I'm an amateur radio guy, I rummaged through my parts bins and found a Fair-Rite Type 43 Toroid Choke and wrapped the power supply cable for the Aircom S9 around it 11 times. Problem solved, no more interference from the Aircom supplied Power Supply and now I'm a very happy camper. I genuinely like and appreciate the engineering that went into the Aircom S9 cooling device itself. It does the job well for my legacy receiver and I've no doubt it will help extend the life of it. Aesthetically, this is a very nice stereo cooler. It's quiet (even on high speed), looks great and does a great job keeping my receiver cool. I've been known to "exercise" my amp's capabilities and living in a townhome that means my neighbors occasionally hear me. LOL! My only "nit" is with the power supply that shops with it. It's poorly designed, generates too much heat and generates a ton of RF Interference. This is an easily fixable problem that I outlined in my email to Aircom hoping they pass it off to their engineers. If you're considering an Aircom S9 for your receiver/amplifier, this unit delivers the cool. Just do yourself a favor and order a Fair-Rite Type 43 Toroid along with it (those are easily found here on Amazon for about $8) and wrap the power cord around it 10-11 times to eliminate the interference. Then sit back and let the Aircom S9 keep your stereo receiver/amplifier nice and cool. Note: I purchased my Aircom S9 for my own personal use. I've not been asked to provide my review above by Aircom nor have I been compensated in any way for my review. I read so many good reviews about this unit that I felt I had to add my own and point out the flaws with the power supply that ship with it. I'm hopeful that Aircom incorporates the feedback I left them in email about the power supply and take steps to fix it. Their S9 device is a beautiful stereo cooler, it does a great job and it deserves a decent power supply.

Decent little duel cooling fan.
Has a small footprint, takes up little space, and cools rather efficiently. I bought this cooling fan for an upcoming receiver upgrade. Before I placed it own a new receiver, I placed it on an approximately 12-13 year old 7.1 Yamaha receiver that needs a break. I keep my living room at 75° F, and the receiver sits in a recess without an open back, so it does create some heat. This double cooling fan removes warm air straight up, and I may need to get another one that removes air forward and use this one for a pre amp associated with the system. The controls are simple. I don't need to know the exact temperature, so this one works for my needs. I set it on automatic, and it comes on and turns off, changes between 4 fan speeds, shows you what speed the fan is on, and does a pretty good job of removing the warmer air from the receiver er. I don't mind that the fan speed indicator is bright. I may just put a round piece of black tape over it. Even still, it isn't so bright that it distracts from the image on the television above. The fans are not at all that loud, even at the highest speed. It is priced more than I initially wanted to spend on it, but in the end, I could have more spent more on an equal quality cooling fan. In the end, I didn't have to build a cooling fan module, that could have been cheaper or more expensive.

Good product but noise varies from unit-to-unit
This is a good product, but I knocked one star due to the fan noise. I've actually purchased two of these. The first one was a few years back & it performs great. Very quiet. however, the one I purchased a few months ago is noticeably louder than the first one I purchased. It's not crazy loud, but it's too bad it's not as quiet as my first one, which is whisper-quiet when on its lowest level. So, just be aware that there may be significant unit-to-unit variance when it comes to the noise level. I use this for some headphone amps that I have (e.g. Schiit Mjolnir 3), and it works quite well in keeping things cool. I like that this model has the rear exhaust, so I can still stack some things on top of the Aircom if needed. I like the different modes that it has; I use Smart mode most of the time: - On mode: this run the fan at a consistent speed of your choosing. there are 4 different speeds - Auto mode: the fan only turns on when it senses a temp of 88F & it turns off the fans when the temp is 84F or lower - Smart mode: the fans change speed based on the temperature. for every 2F increment that the temp is below 88F, the fan speed will decrease by one level. You can choose to run it consistently at one of the 4 different fan speeds, but there's also fancier settings that automatically adjust the fan speed based on the temperature.

Works GREAT with my T3 exhaust fan in an enclosed cabinet!
I installed a T3 exhaust fan years ago when I noticed my AV cabinet was super hot (like an oven!) due to the Xbox. I drilled 1” holes in the bottom of it and installed that unit. I bought a basic MERV 8 dust filter that could be cut to size and stapled it to the bottom to keep it from drawing dust into the cabinet and replaced the back cardboard of the cabinet with a piece of 1-2” plywood. That worked great by itself until recently. The Xbox has been running hotter than ever and the internal temp was getting up to 130 causing the unit to overheat and shut down. I installed this rear venting unit and it has made a huge difference. The unit acts as a fresh air intake pulling air up and into the back of the cabinet. The T3 pulls the hot air out so there’s a chimney effect. The unit is in Smart mode and the temp doesn’t get past 88 when not using the Xbox. With the Xbox running super hot, the temps now max out at 110 but are consistently around 95-100 when the Xbox isn’t in overdrive due to certain games my kids play (Fortnite seems to require a lot of processing power. Another reason to despise that game!) Prior to installing this unit temps we’re getting into the high 120’s If not tipping 130. Even when the cabinet temp is on the high end, it cools down very fast once the Xbox is turned off or switches to a less processor intensive game. The noise level was significantly louder when I tried the unit on top of the receiver and was constantly spinning up even when the cabinet was only at 88. I moved the Xbox shelf up so there was a larger space but it didn’t make a difference. Under the receiver it’s a lot quieter and is not kicking on when it’s not needed. The ambient heat from the receiver was causing this even though the cabinet was at a safe temp of 88. Don’t need to hear the fans when we are watching movies! Overall, I’m seeing significant heat reduction with my application of this unit. With smart mode, the temps are regulated as quietly as possible and only when needed, the fans hit the max speeds which creates noticeable noise. Very happy with this purchase. Haven’t had a single overheating incident with the Xbox since installing it and the kids are on it for several hours a day.

Very Impressed
I ordered the S6 model to replace a Middle Atlantic Comp-Cool that bit the dust after 6 years (if you're familiar with those and know what you pay for what you get, they're a terrible investment compared to an Aircom). I'm very impressed with what the S6 delivers for $50. I chose the 12" model because I didn't see the need for the larger 17" ones. Nor did I see the need for the additional expense of the T models with the screen. Any rack you have your gear in must have venting for heat to exit. These won't work without it. You're just recirculating hot air otherwise. You get two controls on the S Models - one for mode and one for fan speed. The modes are off, on, auto, and smart. On means the fans run all the time. Auto means the fan turns on and off depending on equipment temperature at a single fan speed you set. Smart is similar to auto, except fan speed is also automated - slowing and speeding up depending on how hot things are. You can set the max fan speed for the smart mode. The fan speed button allows you to choose among 4 speeds. Finally there's a round indicator that lights in quarters to indicate the fan speed at a glance. Nice and simple. If you need further programmability than that, then consider the T models. So how does the unit work? Very well. It does the job its supposed to and will keep your equipment cool. On the auto modes I believe it turns on at 88 degrees and shuts off at 84. Make sure to choose the model that blows the hot air exhaust were you need it to vent out depending on your setup - front, rear, or top. So let's talk about fan noise. I read numerous reviews that ranged from "I can't hear a thing" to "I can't live with how loud this is". How can both be true? Turns out they both can be true depending on your setup. If you have an open rack and sit within 3-6 feet of it, you'll hear the top 2 speeds, but not the lower 2. My setup is a closed console with a tight fitting door and rear vent hole. I sit 9 feet away. With no content on and my console door closed it's dead silent at the first 3 speeds, but the top speed is noticeably audible. With content on at typical TV listening levels I barely hear the top speed. If playing music or watching an action movie relatively loudly (which is when an amp will really get hot), even the top speed won't be heard in my setup except in quiet passages. Bottom line: don't worry about noise with these units. Play with it in your setup - you'll find your audible comfort level, and can set the fans to never go fast enough to hear. You don't need full speed for these to cool in most cases. For reference, the S6 tops out at 100 CFM - my old fan was successfully keeping my system cool with only 8 CFM. So, you can easily keep these in the really quiet lower two speeds and in most cases have that be enough cooling. Get one of these. Your equipment will thank you - as will your wallet. You don't want to fry the HDMI board on your AVR. Enjoy!

Outstanding design and performance, perfect for component audio systems
I wish these had been around during the vintage stereo days. Mine is sitting on top of a power amplifier which only had maybe 1.5 in clearance one I reconfigured a system. This is dead quiet and activates only when the temperature rises if you use the sensing feature, but leaving it on low speed constantly is also completely unobtrusive. I may get the second smaller model for another amplifier with more of a "block" footprint. Right now it has a conventional boxer fan in back of it but I can hear it even with the cabinet shut-- this design is superior for virtually noiseless cooling. Very highly recommended for component audio systems.

A must-have investment
Fantastic appliance. I was previously using a USB desk top fan positioned behind my AV equipment to blow air across the top of my pioneer SCLX901 atmos receiver. It was fine for a while. Kept the receiver cooler than without a fan. But the fan wasn’t silent and was distracting. The receiver still got warm if run for a while. So I looked for something purpose built. This cooler is damn good. Sits seemlessly on top of my receiver and blends right in. I run it on auto mode and on the lowest fan-speed setting and the receiver stays cold, even after watching a couple of movies at an enthusiastic volume level, running all 11 channels and 3 subs. The cooler is silent. You don’t even notice when it comes on and off when it needs to. Even if run at higher fan speeds, I don’t think you even notice any noise. To answer an audiophile’s question, yes, the indicator light can be switched off by holding the mode button for 3 seconds, which is a great feature. There is an indicator light to tell you the unit is on, but it’s tiny and not a distraction. This unit has a rear exhaust, so consider this for your application. Definitely a must buy to protect your equipment, especially if you spend a high dollar amount on your stuff.

Too good to be true
Solved my heat problems right away

Better than expected
I have a Denon AVR-X3600H and Oppo UDP203 located in a cabinet that has a perforated door for airflow. Despite the perforated door, the amp used to get so hot, you couldn't put your hand on the top of it. The heat used to build up so much that the Oppo UDP203 would also heat up. Although neither piece of equipment would shut down, I was worried about the long term affect. I read other reviews on the Infinity AIRCOM S10 so decided to give it a try. I can say that I can't recall being so satisfied with a piece of kit. I love that it draws the air from the bottom and blows it out the front, through my perforated cabinet door. I set it to auto so that it would turn on automatically at a fan speed required to keep the Denon, when it is turned on, at a temperature that is acceptable. The fans at full speed are quite audible in a silent room though on the auto setting, the AIRCOM S10 keeps the fans in the lower RPM range which is very quiet and keeps all my equipment very cool, even when it's on for hours. I can unreservedly recommend the AIRCOM S10 for keeping equipment cool.
