No, it does not control a DAW, but it is a great interface with flexibility for recording, sending and playing multiple tracks. I use a separate midi based NEKtar keyboard controller to control the DAW. They are effective and very inexpensive.

Can it be hooked up with 1000amp power speakers?

I've used the larger StudioLive mixer models connected to large speaker monitors with built-in high power amplifiers for live-band PA applications for many years.
