Smittys Glass Wax

I was suspect of the product claims and a bit higher price than others. I am completely impressed and happy I made the choice to try Smittys. Got it to improve my glasses that I wear daily. I’ve had my glasses a few years and was considering needing to replace them as the clarity has dropped away from scratches across time from dust and dirty cleaning towels. I used the cleaner once and it recoated the lenses to a clear finish almost instantly. Renews the polymer coating and repels dust and smudges awesomely. Repeated the application a couple times each day and all the scratching and cloudiness is gone completely. Now I just maintain by using every couple weeks to refresh. It’s like I have new lenses again. This makes me quite happy to not have to replace $400 lenses, (progressive bifocal, UV coated polycarbonate with amber transition),as my prescription has no need of change. Worth every penny and goes a long long way as I only use a minimal drop on each lense. Buy this!

What this product does: -Cleans lenses and leaves behind a crystal clear coating that lasts at least several days for me. I generally re-apply weekly but its almost or completely gone by then depending on frequency of cleaning. YMMV on the durability/duration of the coating. -I get smudges by my glasses bridge/nose pad area really badly and have to clean multiple times a day as a result. I find with a fresh application of this wax that I have to clean less often and it is much easier to get a haze free finish when I do. What this product does not do: -Repair scratches. Why anybody is marking this down for NOT doing something that it makes NO claims to do is baffling. Its almost like they didn't bother to read the product description.... or maybe their glasses were just too dirty 😜. Yes, I realize AMAZON is marking this as their choice of "glasses scratch remover", but they are just the marketplace and they have clearly put this in a category it doesn't belong. Now, having said that, I find it does make scratches less noticeable to some extent. I have several extremely fine micro scratches on my glasses and they become almost invisible unless I have the glasses at a certain angle and in the right light with this applied. The larger scratches are still visible, of course, but are "softer" if that makes sense. To reiterate: The scratches are still there, they are just less visible when this is applied. -Scratch lenses. Some reviewers claim this can scratch your lenses. There are no abrasives in this. There is nothing in this TO leave scratches. I'm going to guess they were using dirty cleaning cloths, or their lenses had some kind of dirt they didn't clean off first? If you're getting any kind of grit(mud, sand, dirt, etc) on your lenses, rinse that stuff off before wiping them down. If you don't, you're just using sandpaper.

To start with, this wax does not actually prevent smudges, scratches, dust or dirt on eyeglass lenses, nor does it repel dust and dirt from getting on them for weeks, as claimed. Minus a whole star for that. What it does do, however, is that once lenses are thoroughly cleaned with mild soapy water, Zeiss wipes, etc., and a thin coat of the wax is applied and rubbed clean with the supplied microfiber cloth, wiping away subsequent smudges is much easier with just the cloth. And when that doesn’t work anymore – most likely in a few days, but certainly not weeks – it’s simply time for another deep cleaning and a new coat of wax. It’s expensive, no doubt about it, but the tube should last a quite a while if used sparingly and applied to eyeglass lenses as directed. If you’re using the wax on phones, tablets, laptops, desktops, full length mirrors, and every glass surface you can find, then no, it’s not going to last long at all.

Doesn’t work as advertised. I chose this because it had a higher rating…. I was hoping it would help prevent or smooth out scratches. It does neither. It cleans the lenses, but that’s about it.

I actually bought this product thinking that it was something else. I thought that it was like "Nerd Wax"; something intended to help keep the glasses from slipping off of your nose (for my girlfriend). It arrived in the mail and I was annoyed that I hadn't read the description more carefully. I had recently purchased new glasses and decided that I would see if this stuff was any good. I put a couple of drops on each lens and then buffed the liquid off with the provided towel. To my surprise, my glasses were crystal clear...so far so good. What was the most exciting to me, is that I realized that I wasn't having to wipe my glasses constantly throughout the day. I have long eyelashes and they have a tendency to leave "brush strokes" on the inside of my lenses. This kept the little stuff from effecting my vision; almost as if oils weren't sticking to the glasses like they normally would. By the end of the first week, I realized that I was cleaning my glasses each morning, but hardly at all throughout the day. I've since told quite a few people about this product; even the store that I bought my glasses from. I can honestly say that this has been a great "happy little accident". I would definitely recommend giving this a shot if you are considering it.

Made my glasses worse. Can barely see through them now. The solution itself may be alright, but the cloth they send and say to only use this cloth... scratched my glasses beyond belief.

Yes, it really works. I love smoking cigars, and I'm lucky to be able to do so in my office at home whenever I please. But let's face it, the smoke wreaks havoc on my glasses' lenses. I'm accustomed to cleaning them 5-6 times a day (or more) - and typical cleaning solutions don't cut through the oily residue from the cigar smoke so well anyway. And then I bought a bottle of Smitty's Glass Wax. It's a game changer! Not only is it far superior at cleaning my glasses, but it keeps them clean muuuuuch longer. And a little goes a long way. I still clean them once a day, not that they're nearly as badly smudged after a full day as they would be just an hour or two after using a regular cleaning solution. But I can imagine only needing to clean them once or twice a week with Smitty's if not for the smoke. Oh, and it's great on my phone's screen too!

I spent a ton of money buying different screen cleaner/polish, but this stuff is by far the best. Made my phone screen nice and slick and it Def prevents build up of smudges and fingerprints. I was skeptical cause I've been let down before. Try this stuff it's amazing and makes the screen easier to clean as well, just wish it was bigger, but you only need a couple of tiny drops so the bottle should last a very long time. I've done extensive research and like I said spent a ton of money on different products that are now in a drawer somewhere cause the failed in their claims.not this stuff. It's amazing. I'm a fanatic when it comes to my phone screen, especially like when it feels nice and slick. But over time the factory applied oleophobic coating wears off. I even tried specific oleophobic kits. But smittys wax blows them all away. And just for the record I wasn't paid for this review nor did I recieve anything free. I'm just a very satisfied customer tired of being lied to with promises of other products. Thanks Smittys

I have read a few of the negative reviews prior to buying this but obviously I still purchased, There was one person who stated it does not remove scratches? it's wax how could it lol, I have read nothing about removal of scratches from the manufacturer. But that said I purchased this for my cell phones and tablets to get back the silky feel (easier to glide) it does an amazing job at this (does not last forever of course but lasts a long time and can simply be re applied) Same premise as car wax I have also used it on my glasses, sunglasses etc... very happy with the results for the things it has outlined on the bottle it does a fantastic job of delivering on. I will buy again when I run out definitely recommend this product!!

My husband loves this product. He originally purchased it at an outdoor market in LA several years ago and hasn’t found anything locally that compares to it.
