Is this the 2017 body style?

No the body mold is based on the 2015 car, but the sticker sheet is for the 2016 car

Is this similar size to a pinewood derby car? Do the stickers include black roof, scoop and windows?

not really, this is a 1/25 scale plastic model. Many parts, rubber tires, and water slide decals, engine included. All of it is white and needs painted, and glued together, it has clear plastic for the windows, if you have built models before this isn't too hard, and comes out great, good luck

What is the Transparent Gray used for? I ask because we can’t find it anywhere & wondered if it’s ok to skip it.

I might be a little late but here ya go, it is used on step #15 for the rear tail lights. To separate the lights from the plastic that holds them in, but fl black works just fine and paint it from the back side and it will look like gloss black, which is what your looking for. Hope it helps
