Perfect for Hot Cocoa Bombs — Fun, Easy, and a Huge Hit with Kids
We picked up this silicone mold to make hot cocoa bombs during Christmas, and it ended up being one of the best holiday activities we did with the kids. The mold itself is made from flexible silicone, which makes a big difference when working with chocolate. Once the shells set, they pop out easily without cracking or breaking, which is key when you’re trying to keep the halves clean and smooth. The size of the spheres is just right too—large enough to hold cocoa mix and marshmallows, but still fits nicely in a standard mug. What really stood out is how versatile and easy it is to use. The mold can handle a wide range of temperatures (freezer, fridge, and even oven-safe), so it works well not just for cocoa bombs, but also for things like mousse, candy, or even soap if you wanted to get creative. The non-stick surface makes cleanup simple, which is always a plus when you’re doing this with kids. From an experience standpoint, this turned into more than just baking—it became a fun family activity. The kids loved filling the shells with cocoa mix and marshmallows, sealing them up, and decorating the outside. Watching the cocoa bombs “explode” when hot milk is poured over them made it even more exciting. 👍 Pros: Flexible silicone makes removal easy (no cracking shells) Great size for standard mugs Easy to clean and reusable Works for multiple desserts beyond cocoa bombs Perfect for holiday activities or gifts 👎 Cons: Silicone is flexible, so placing it on a baking sheet helps with stability when moving 🎯 Final Verdict: If you’re looking to make hot cocoa bombs at home, this mold is a great choice—especially around the holidays. It’s simple to use, reliable, and turns into a really fun activity for kids and families. We’ll definitely be using it again next Christmas.

Easy for beginners to use
I bought this to make Hot Chocolate Bombs, which I had never made before. I was a little worried, but no problem at all. They were perfect! The chocolate was easy to apply. I put them in the refrigerator for about 10 to 15 minutes then easily popped them out of the mold. I used chocolate wafers melted over a double boiler, then applied with a silicone brush. That was the first try. Next, I'll try to make the chocolate a bit thicker (apply thicker coat), and then keep the kiddos away until christmas!

Perfect size and easy release.
Used these and they released the chocolate shell perfectly, not one stuck. No need for any non stick spray. Hand wash with warm soap and water, but actually nothing sticks to them. Holds their shape, great value, holds up in the freezer.

They are ok
So I got them to make hot cocoa bombs, which is a first for me. They performed well in terms of releasing the chocolate and clean up. The local store ran out so I ordered online. I don’t think they are the same quality. But they were cheaper and I didn’t want to spend a lot not knowing if I’d use them again. If I was going to use the mold often I’d probably spend more and get better ones. Pretty good for a beginner.

Silicone half circle molds
They came packaged very nicely, and they are nice and neat to put away. I haven't used them yet, but they look like a nice size and should be great for baking what I want to bake.

Cheap silicone mold
Wow! This is an honest review for this product. Please don’t waste your money. This silicone mold is extremely flimsy and does not hold it shape. Even when putting both moles together, the mold is still flimsy and flat at the bottom. If I could’ve given no stars, I most certainly would’ve done that.

Great for hot chocolate bombs!
Within one hour of these molds arrived in my mailbox, I was pouring hot milk over my first ever made hot chocolate bombs! Here’s what I learned: 1) when the molds arrive, fill them with water and put in microwave for 2 mins. Let it Cool or pull the mold out of the microwave and burn your hands like I did. The silicone is very flexible by design 2) melt chocolate into mold cups. I used chocolate chips, I imagine the melting wafers would have been easier. 30 seconds at a time, probably took 3 mins total. Using a spoon heated up with hot water, pull the melted chocolate to the top Edges of mold, don’t worry if you spill over the edge, that’s fine 3) put in freezer for 30 Minutes. 4) peel back the mold. Flip cups over 5) fill with hot chocolate mix and marshmallows 6) warm a plate in the microwave. Using the shells that are not filled, place them rim side down on the hot plate to melt the rim, secure shell to the filled shell. To get rid of the seems, run a hot spoon around the edge. 7) place “bombs” in a large mug. Pour hot water or hot milk over and stir! Voila!

Wunderbare Formen
