Terrible
6/29/2023 Issue resolved by Neewer customer service. I purchased 2 sizes of nd filters for my new Canon RF lenses. The nd filters case cross' on the images and ruin the images completely. I got them specially for our trip to Germany since we would be in the country side and wanted to do landscape photography. At lower nd settings at first it seems ok. But once you get to 7-9 for longer exposures, it does not work properly.

Relatively good
This filter works decently but is a little too dark and messes with the quality. It protects your lens and the appearance looks cool and is easy to use however not the best product.

Exceptional Filter, happy purchase.
My daily filter! Top quality. Built to stand demand of photography sessions. Primarily shoot with this filter on my Sony A7Riv it has created some amazing pictures. I have yet to take it off since it arrived. Truly happy with this purchase. It acts as a protective layer for you optical lens and is very easy to remove for quick changes on the go. This filter has 9 stops of filtration for all sorts of photo scenarios. Value was great. For was exact. You won’t regret it. Key Note: Make sure you check your lens front for filter diameter size before purchasing, it seems some negative reviews were due to some not paying attention to this key detail for the lens to work properly. It does not just sit in optical lens, it screws onto the threads and is secure if you got the exact type for your lens. Follow directions and you’re all set. Enjoy!

Too blurry for portrait work
I'm an amateur photographer and I wanted to up my game by getting an ND filter to use with my strobes. I wanted to be able to do Portrait photography without High Speed Sync (HSS). My strobes don't have HSS. I got the Neewer S101-300W strobes off of Amazon. I purchased the NEEWER 77mm MRC Variable ND Filter ND2-ND400 off of Amazon but the blurry images that I'm getting with the filter make it unusable for portrait photography. I plan to try a more expensive filter and see if maybe that helps. It is possible that I got a bad copy. My copy came well packaged and very clean. The variable ND filter turned smoothly and darkened well but those blurry images just make it a no go for me. I've included 5 photos taken with and without the ND filter. Below are the settings used for each of the shots. Head & Shoulder portrait zoomed in on Eye with Filter @ <1 stops on the filter: • f/9, 1/160 sec., ISO-100 shooting with a strobe light. • Canon 77D w/Canon 70-200 f2.8 @ 108mm Head & Shoulder portrait zoomed in on Eye with no filter: • f/10, 1/160 sec., ISO-100 shooting with a strobe light. • Canon 77D w/Canon 70-200 f2.8 @ 108mm Lawnmower Natural light Filter on @ < 1 stops on the filter: • f/2.8, 1/1000 sec., ISO-100 • Canon 77D w/Canon 70-200 f2.8 @ 145mm Lawnmower Natural light no filter: • f/2.8, 1/1000 sec., ISO-100 • Canon 77D w/Canon 70-200 f2.8 @ 145mm The 2 pictures of my eye and the 2 pictures of my lawnmower handle are all crops of the original pictures. The Eye pictures came from head and shoulder portraits taken of me. The lawnmower shots show the difference in clarity really well. Without the ND filter you can read the text. With the ND filter you can't even tell the white stuff is text. I think that the camera may be front focusing when it has the filter on because if you look at the picture of the couch, I focused the camera on the flower that it circled in red but the center of focus seems to be closer to me, where I drew the red line. Even if that's the only issue with using the ND filter it still won't work out for me. I need to be able to autofocus when using the ND filter and strobes. The image as seen through the viewfinder on my Canon 77D is barely bright enough that I can see the image. Certainly not bright enough for manual focus. Update 6/20/2023: I returned the ND filter to amazon with no hassle. I purchased a new filter for $69 instead of the $28 I spent on this filter. The new filter is incredibly for portraits. I shot at 5 stops with the new filter and could hardly tell the filter was on by looking at the sharpness of the resultant photos. Super happy that I chose to return this filter and try again with a new brand/pricepoint.

📸😉..💖 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Cheap but works
It does the job if you need something fast and cheap but sadly you get what you pay for. It all feels very cheap and when the nd is turned all the way the crossings is very visible

Handy little filter, excellent quality
Very useful little variable ND filter in a not-so-common size. Not only does this work great with the lenses it is intended for, it can easily be adapted to point and shoot cameras or my camcorders to add more versatility to them as well.
