Very good for the price - if you like the dial and case size.
Here's my immediate analysis of this Phoibos watch: 1. It seems to wear larger than the 42mm case size would suggest, which I like. 2. The dial is beautiful and fits my personal taste. It is three-piece abalone, with the pieces placed together vertically. 3. The hand winding action is smooth, the crown threads are smooth and accurate, and the case back is attractive. The watch looks well made and well machined. The crown size is near perfect for this watch. 4. I really like the coin edge on the bezel. In most photos, the bezel color seems like it is a flat black. My bezel is glossy black. I would have preferred the flat. 5. The strap is very comfortable and seems well made. The buckle is nice. 6. I have three dozen watches, most of them autos that sit for weeks while I wear others, so I could not care less about accuracy. 7. My collection includes $3500 Longines to $100 Citizens. I would rate the build quality of this watch, in as much as I can tell, to be as good as my Henry Archer, slightly better than my Seikos, not as refined as my higher priced Longines and Oris, and on par with my best Citizens (Signature series). For less than $300, this watch is a true bargain if it functions reliably over time. We'll see.

VERY SWEET DIVER THAT HAS NO QUALITY LAPSES
anyone doing review research on this diver knows it punches in the $500 or more range easy, not just on tech specs, but build quality. since everything is top quality, from lume to alignment, to anything to do with the 120click bezel, i'll just address the style and design, which can be described as an updated classic genre...like a slightly modernized version of Tudor or Rolex subs. wonderfully, this model forgoes crown guards, giving it a nice vintage quality to mix with other of its modern look, such as the wave dial, dial and bezel fonts, hand and marker style. kind of a hat trick to mix a classic vintage genre, which this case style is, with some modernization, but they do it skillfully and brilliantly. as a vintage diver restorer for 30years, it rang my bell. but while it looks great and has build quality at a price point 2-3 times higher than its cost, i'll warn people it is a tad on the bigger size vis a vis the trend to go 40mm for divers. at 42mm without crown, and near 15mm thickness, be forewarned. this is not a critque as the watch earns the right to be that size because it's: 1. a dive watch to begin with, and 2. has an impressive 300m H20 resistance. if you can hang with that size, this is a beautiful piece and one that will not bring regrets.

Buy it
First impression: WOW! I've had this watch in my basket for months. MONTHS! I was hesitant because of the strap. I like a bracelets mostly because I feel straps are always overlooked by the manufacturer but usually the bracelets are "fit." Modifying the clasp, etc can progress from there. Waiting because of the the strap was a mistake in this case. This watch is beautiful and the strap. is very well accompanied. A huge oversight on my part but the hesitation was warranted due to other previous watch purchases. Not here. I received the watch and actually wore it through the night after the first time strapping it on. That's a comfortable strap if you ask me. Don't hesitate, itโs a fantastic watch at an incredible price. Zero complaints, completely and overly satisfied with the purchase. 6 3/4โ wrist. I'll be back for more Phoibos watches and I won't waste time worrying about the strap ever again! Fabulous

Amazing looking watch, horrible quality control on Abalone dials.
Giving this watch a 4 of 5 score for a few reasons... Abalone Dial: I understand Abalone is a natural shell and will have some variation, but i purchased THREE of these watches before i was happy with the quality. The first two had holes, gaps, cracks, and poorly aligned patterns that just make it look sloppy. The pictures posted show a single solid chunk with good color, but all of the ones i got were constructed of 3-4 small chunks all glued together which was OK but the patterns were wildly different and didn't match. I could have lived with that, but the cracks and holes is where i drew the line. After getting one i felt was poor quality, I reached out to Phoibos and was told tough luck as its a shell so that is expected to happen with some of them... however I own two other watches with Abalone dials and they are made from a solid, single, smooth dials with good color and matching pattern - AND they were a third the cost. I really liked the company logo and watch case, so i ordered two more in hopes out of the 3 one of them would be acceptable - and that was the case. Im not 100% thrilled with it, but the third one had the least flaws and most color so i stuck with it. The other two I sold on marketplace for a $20 loss each just to get a quick sale. Lume: The lume on this watch is many layers of BGW9 lume and it is SUPER bright. Most of my other watches hardly glow, but this guy casts shadows on the wall after hitting it with the UV light. About 2 hours after charging with the UV light its only visible to dark-adjusted eyes, but that is still better then any other watch I own. Movement: The watch boasts a NH35a movement with a 6-o'clock date window, and works exactly like it should. As far as the automatic winding, it is not as well balanced and smooth as other NH35 movements I have but its also not the worst. The crown winding is acceptable with a little 'crunch' but not as smooth as others I've had. Unfortunately I don't have a timegrapher, so I'm not sure how accurate it is but since I cycle so many automatic watches I have to set them when I wear them so it wasn't a major issue to me. Case and Strap: The case is nice with a branded screw down crown, and a screw down case back with the Phoibos logo stamped into the back. It has a nice brushed finish and is about 40mm with rounded lugs. It comes with a 22mm branded poly band that is very flexible and comfortable to wear, with a nice matching branded buckle... i was planning on swapping to a metal 3-link band, but found i love the OEM stock band. Overall: In the end im happy with the watch, but for the $300 price point i would have expected better quality control. Having to go through three watches and taking a loss in the process is excessive IMO, but i was also anal and wanted a nice looking watch. If you are super picky like me, you may want to stick to buying a watch with a natural shell or stone dial in person where you can tell the exact one you are getting before you pull the trigger.

Quite the โlookerโ
UPDATE: Still very pleased with this watch. After almost 11 months, it continues to gain about 8 seconds a day, which is fine with me. I donโt have to worry about a battery dying. I replaced the rubber strap with a NATO strap. The rubber strap was comfortable, but I like the security of a NATO strap. And the watch still looks great, even though I wear it almost every day. Original: I just got it, so I canโt comment on its accuracy. But it is the nicest looking watch Iโve ever owned. The octopus logo is very cool. The hands are easy to read. The bezel turns with solid audible clicks and lines up perfectly. I have a small wrist (6 5/8โ). I wear it on the fifth hole of ten, so I think it would work well on any wrist from 6 1/4 to 7 1/2+โ. And it looks good, even on my small wrist. Not too big for me. The โrubberโ strap is comfortable. The look, the quality (movement and crystal), and, of course, the price sold me on this watch. If I find the accuracy needing improvement and/or I find it doesnโt hold up to my swimming, Iโll update this review. Until then, solid 5 stars. Day three update: I tested the lume the past two nights. I can clearly read it after 8 hours of darkness sitting on my bedside table. One week update: After seven days, it gained one minute, or roughly 8-9 seconds per day. I find that acceptable.

Excellent design and execution.
Very handsome and somewhat unique looking dive watch. Lots of attention to detail on the polishing and brushing of the stainless steel. The bezel is beautiful glossy black ceramic that clicks nicely and has a nice coin edge. The crown is also nicely done. The sapphire crystal sits flush. The case back features the playful Kraken or octopus engraving. The dial is the star of the show. Nice 3-D wave pattern with a purple and black fume or fade finish, raised hour and minute hands and indices outlined in gold and filled with bright sky blue lume. Tasteful orange second hand and chapter ring markings. The rubber, not polyurethane or resin strap is comfortable but plain. I suspect if this was a mainstream brand made anywhere but China it would retail for close to $500. I think itโs designed and built well enough to rate the $300 price considering the finish, ceramic bezel, sapphire crystal, and engraved case back.

BEAUTIFUL watch but not very accurate or functional
This is an absolutely beautiful watch. Loved everything about how it looks. It is in pristine condition. That's the good part. Shame that it doesn't work very well. Maybe I got a lemon but the battery time (after solar charging) is incredibly short---less than 24 hours. And it isn't as accurate, even when charged, as it should be. My old solar Seiko dive watch (unfortunately they don't make this model anymore) even a decade later works more reliably and keeps a charge longer. I bought the PHOIBOS because my Seiko needs to be refurbished. I read a lot of PHOIBOS reviews before buying it--it was super enthusiastically recommended. So, maybe my PHOIBOS watch is a dud and not representative of the product or company but right now it is a very pretty but not very functional watch. SAD!!

Good value for a good watch
Wanted to test the Phoibos waters and needed a less expensive watch for travel. The watch arrived packaged very nicely, all logos are clean and crisp, and the case machining is excellent. The uni-directional coin-edge bezel works perfectly and aligned just right with all indices. The inner chapter ring numbers are a bit hard to read unless in direct light (could be a little brighter orange and the numbers larger) but not bad. Lume is great and the watchis surrently keeping approximate +5 to +6 spd. Overall it looks and functions great and I'm very happy with the watch. I may have to look at other models as well!

Really nice watch.
It's a watch I enjoy looking at to check the time. Has a really good lume to see at night. Nice and tight rotating bezel. An attractive watch for sure. Couple things to know. It keeps good time. However it is running a little fast. In about 1x month watch runs fast by about 5 minutes. This seems to be the norm for an automatic watch. For me it's not a problem. The watch strap may be a little tight at first. But over time it stretches a bit and is fine for me. I also periodically gently stretched the strap by hand. Careful to support the pins that hold the strap to not damage pins during the stretching process. That's if you have big wrists like me and need to stretch the straps a bit. Over all quite happy with my purchase. Have had it for close to 3x month's.

Good quality microbrand, a few things could be improved but over all excellent, I have a collection of 33 watches this is not inferior to the ones of a similar price and betters some more expensive ones.

Very impressed
My first phoibos! I got it on sale for $374 and I'm very happy with it for the price - solid build, beautiful colours on the abalone, great detail. Feels very nice and very expensive, for an affordable price - absolutely chuffed
