Aquarium Plant S.e,e,ds. not Fish Tank Aritificial Plastic Plant,10gram Mini-Leaf+8grame Long Hair Grass Fresh Water Carpet Decor

The tall grass sprouted in 2 days in my aquarium and after 6 days it gotten tall !! The mini leafs took a week to sprout but are now tiny green specs , they get very very sticky once they touch water so avoid touching them or you will get a clump of seeds or plant them before you pour water in your tank ( you can also grow them out your tank and plant them as you go ) . I am using fluval stratum. My aquarium has a light and placed in a bright room , heater , and oxygen for my fish . But seeds seemed to love the environment. I have a betta and some tetras with snails and they are very happy with the new grass addition !! Definitely recommend. I will continue to purchase .

When I got the seed packets, I noticed that there are NO specific (latin) description of the contents - so these are kind of "generic" seeds...who knows what's really in there! Are these grass seeds Eleocharis Montevidensis, Eleocharis Arcicularis, Eleocharis Parvula, Echinodorus Tenellus ... or something entirely different? Who knows? And the low ground cover plants are even more of a mystery. The grass seeds DID grow/germinate, but the seeds were full of fungus/mold spores, which grew nearly as fast as the the grass. The ground cover did NOT grow/germinate at all. And as I read more reviews (which I should have done before purchase) I discovered that some people who DID get them to grow, discovered that they are not really a short (under an inch tall) ground cover, but rather a leafy invasive water weed that grew to 2-4 inches tall. Apparently (as I have eventually learned) the high quality DSM ground cover plants that we expect ARE NOT AVAIBLE AS SEEDS in the market - you have to get them as starts. I am removing my substrate now, and going with a higher quality source. Live and learn! ONE MONTH LATER ------ Both the grass and the ground cover DID grow. I added water when the grass was about 4 inches tall, and the ground cover was about 1/2 inch tall. The grass continued to grow fast and pretty tall - then it turned transparent and yellowish, so I pulled it and planted guppy grass - instead of replanting with grass seeds. The ground cover (some of it) continues to grow, and it is about 2 inches deep now, and extremely thick. But, it is delicate - snails leave trails through it and if i bump it with a tool big chunks float off. It also spreads ALOT - not like a vine, but rather little bitty seeds and/or plants float around and begin to grow everywhere - even on the glass! I have removed about half of it after I had to re-run an air hose under the gravel - it was easier than expected to remove. Bottom line - both of them grew, but after about one month, all of the grass and half the ground cover have been removed,

The carpet seeds are tiny and were stuck to the packaging due to static electricity. I was able to get most of them out though. The long grass seeds were easier to work with and grew faster. To start the growing process I saw several different methods people used and I kind of just did my own thing. I used pool filter sand as my substrate instead of aqua soil. I just had to rinse it thoroughly. Then I placed the decorative rocks I had in the tank and sprinkled the seeds around them. The small seeds are STICKY once you get them wet. I do think that the seeds germinated quicker because I misted them with a mixture of Flourish and water in a spray bottle. I also kept the tank covered to prevent the seeds from drying out. A lot of light was needed as well (most suggested 12-15 hrs daily), I used an overhead led aquarium light and kept it on 24 hrs because I’m home all day and can keep an eye on it. I planted a couple of seeds close to the front of the tank so I could see how far the roots were. Then I would know when I could add water and balance out the tank for the fish. Everything looks great and we’ve gotten a lot of compliments on the progress in such a short amount of time. Would definitely buy again.

The taller grass grew fast, but was too big for my 5gallon portrait tank. The mini leaf took a while to sprout. Was very happy on the beginning as I got a nice carpet across the substrate and also a few places on my wood decor. But that soon turned into a bad deal. The plants grow to a size of 3-4 inches, making the whole thing look like a jungle. Check out the pic. It's not what I was expecting. Plus it keeps clogging up my filter intake and have to clean it up almost daily. It also smothers any other plants you add to the mix. I wish I had read some of the other reviews. Got to now pull all of it out. Am sure that's going to be a feat in itself. Not worth it.

i really enjoyed this product. The long grass seeds sprouted almost overnight. I used one of my aquarium lights with the blue, red, white, and green LEDs. I did my best to keep my light on the whole time but I also had nights where i had it off 6-8 hours (sleep time). The mini leaf’s do take awhile longer to sprout as my long grass was half an inch grown-in already when i first started seeing the tiny green leaves. i did plastic wrap on top of a 20 gal tank and poked holes with a toothpick and taped down the sides because the condensation in the tank was making the plastic come off. Very happy with the turn out, my only concern is that many people in a facebook group i am apart of have told me that eventually in your tank, these seeds will mold? since they’re not “real” aquatic plants and they’re “semi” aquatic since they’re being introduced to the water, overtime they will mold if not already eaten by your fishies. I’m still going to give mine some time and figure out what i want to stock the tank with and change it out later if i get any problems. Also, make sure you don’t pour water right on top of the newly sprouted roots as they will definitely get messed up since they’re not completely rooted to the bottom on the tank yet, my mistake.

So, all of the plants grew initially. The grass grew quickly, the mini leaf seeds took a bit longer. The bad: the grass is NOT an aquatic species, and melted as soon as I added water. The mini leaf seeds are actually for hygrophila polysperma (aka Indian Swampweed), which is considered invasive in many states. The good: with regular (1-2 times a week) trimming, the swampweed forms a great carpet. It propagates and spreads easily, and requires no special lighting or CO2 infusion to grow. My shrimp, snails, and baby fish love it and it looks nice as long as I keep up on maintenance. Ultimately, I’m upset that the seeds weren’t what I expected and that the species that did grow ended up being an invasive one that WILL outcompete other plants. It works fine for my needs and half of the seeds are thriving, so I gave it two stars. I would not purchase again. If someone were to purchase this for an outdoor setup it could be devastating to local flora if it got into waterways. Buyer beware!

I honestly wasn’t expecting much from aquarium plant seeds because there are so many mixed reviews online, but these worked surprisingly well. and within a couple of weeks they started carpeting nicely. The germination rate was much better than I expected, and the tank is already looking lush.
