Nu-Calgon 417175 Evap Foam

I have been using Nu-Calgon products for a long time and like the quality they provide. The foaming action works very well for me and the smell is very clean and fresh. Using this cleaner is something everyone should use to keep their A/C evaporator clean and working efficiently. It is an alkaline cleaner that is safe on metal and contain corrosion inhibitor’s. It is also NSF registered so it can be used around food processing equipment.

I had very very dirty coils on an older RV. The coal area is probably 18 x 20“. I had to apply this three times and ended up using the whole can. It does foam as it’s supposed to. You do need to use some water to rinse it. If you put the water in a spray bottle and just spray it, it does break the debris down. I don’t know how gentle or abrasive it is. It was on the top of aluminum trailer and when it came down, it did leave some streaks. Use caution rent immediately off your trailer for staining.

The foam worked noticeably well for cleaning. After using it, the unpleasant odor was much better than before, although it did not disappear completely. There is still a slight smell, but the improvement was obvious enough that I do think the product works. My main complaint is the price. This is an 18 oz can, and I think it is fairly expensive for the amount you get, especially since one cleaning did not completely eliminate the odor. Overall, the foaming cleaner made a real difference and I would use it again when needed, but I would be happier with it at a lower price.

This was recommended to me by my furnace repairman. Very easy to use. You can watch it push debris out of the coils. The AC is noticeably colder. Definitely would recommend.

Works great. Sprayed on the evaporator and the dust and grime just dissolved away. It foams a lot. We did end up rinsing it a little after it had set for 10-15 minutes. One can cleaned both sides of the evaporator.

This stuff works really well. I used on my inside furnace air coils & it worked great. Follow instructions on the can & do not over use it, a little goes a long way. The foam itself, It does have a tendency to get warm from the chemical reactions after spraying the surface you're cleaning so be careful not to get it on your skin, wear thick oversized rubber gloves (get the gloves big so you don't have any trouble getting them off or on) & rinse as best as you can without making a mess, this is not the type of cleaner to be messy with. It is a safe cleaner, just be aware & always be safe & remember you can never be too safe. I'm very satisfied with this product as it works better than the others I've tried in the past. Cleans the fins on my indoor blower and outside condenser

The reviews by some is correct the foam starts out foaming good but after sparying for a little while it doesn't foam as well or spray. A lot residue tends to run out the nozzle and down the can. But it does have a nice lemon scent.
