Welcome to Islam: A Step-by-Step Guide for New Muslims

"Welcome" is an apt word in the title--this is one of the most welcoming texts I've ever read in my life. The content is concise, yet understandable and informative. Everything is explained in a simple, friendly way, and the author also provides a glossary and list of external resources for learning more. For a new convert/revert, or even just as a "check in" after years, this is a great way to help keep yourself focused on values and priorities. It would also be a nice guide for something who wants to learn a bit about Islam or Muslims, to be more understanding and accepting. The Kindle edition is accessible and easy to navigate; I hope that my images (screenshots) help to illustrate this.

The author states the purpose of the book well. It isn't meant to be in depth, therefore it doesn't overwhelm the reader/beginner. I highly recommend this read to anyone interested in learning about the faith or considering becoming a practicing Muslim. This does well to give a lot of useful information for a basic understanding as intended by the Author.

I highly recommend this book for new Muslims. It is a short simple guide that you can read in an hour but covers all the basics on getting started with your new life as a Muslim.

Very Briefly, I purchased the above named book for a woman, who is a new Muslim. I liked the idea that a book was provided to assist an individual during this sometimes difficult adjustment period. It was my hope, that the book would answer some common concerns that a person might have, when not at the Mosque or around another (older in knowledge) Muslim; yet trying to do what is appropriate in Islam. I have not received feedback on the book, from the New Muslim, but have confidence that the book successfully conveyed a heart felt desire for her to enjoy her new life in this wonderful deen. Also, since this book was written specifically for the purpose of a New Muslim, I have no doubt that it offers not only advise on practicing a new faith but encourages new avenues of growth as a Muslim.

I recently converted to Islam and I found this book to be super simple but informative. It talks about prayers, dress code, greetings, etc.

This is a very quick and concise step-by-step guide for anyone that may be interested in Islam. It is easy to follow and understand. There is even a guide on certain Islamic terms to help clarify any confusion that one may have. This is a great book to read if you are new to Islam, writing a paper/completing a school assignment, or even if are simply curious about other faiths.

Easy going, yet full of basic useful information. I really like that a list of online resources was given on the last page. Thanks to the author!

I recommend this for beginners to Islam and also believers with experience. For new Muslims the experience could be overwhelming. Welcome to Islam help generalize the basic points for beginners to keep in minds they explore the wonders of Islam. It shows just how simple it is to be Muslim.

If you are a Muslim for more than, let’s say, one month… it’s not for you. It’s very very useful for people that know almost nothing. Don’t criticize the book for its biggest strength.

I actually got this as a starting source for learning about Islam. I am not a Muslim, but rather curious about the religion. It is a good source to learn from, but it is only a starting point. I would recommend it for new Muslims and others like myself who want to know more.
