ONE HUNDRED AND ONE DALMATIANS

I adore this cartoon as do my grandchildren. It was scary enough to thrill them but not in any way upset them. They loved the Dalmatians and the puppies of course. They have asked to watch it several times since the first viewing and I am always happy to watch it with them. Highly recommend.

Good movie

Bought this to watch with my 8 year old. I loved it as bought back childhood memories of how scary I thought Cruella was back in the day! My daughter though, who is used to modern graphics etc got bored and went off to play!

Disney, but slightly different, not quite so "polished" but more of a free flowing style to the animation supported by a great story. For those that remember it's style is like the Pink Panther cartoons. Only gripe is that it isn't wide screen online, not sure if that was intentional or just an element of the age, still watch it. Get a smaller TV if necessary.

Classic story about the spotty pups. Children were mesmerised.

The first DISNEY film I ever saw at the Cinema, 101 Dalmatians is based on the popular novel by DODIE SMITH and runs to a relatively short 79 minutes. Its production uses the rough drawing style of the Xerography process – an effort to cut costs after the previous animated feature, Cinderella, failed at the box office – and therefore this film looks rather different to previous DISNEY offerings. The story centres upon the Radcliffe household in London. Roger (BEN WRIGHT), a struggling musician, and his new wife Anita (LISA DAVIS) live with their Dalmatian pets Pongo (ROD TAYLOR) and Perditta (CATE BAUER), who have just welcomed a litter of 15 puppies. The joyful Radcliffe household harmony is abruptly shattered by the sudden arrival of the vulgar, chain-smoking Cruella De Vil (BETTY LOU GERSON), who hatches a nefarious plan to kidnap the puppies who, combined with the many dozens she has already stashed away at her remote mansion, will make a fine fur coat! With the puppies missing and winter at hand, a desperate Pongo and Perditta attempt to find and rescue their young offspring before time runs out… Although not my favourite DISNEY film, 101 Dalmatians is still an immensely enjoyable experience. Cruella was terrifying when I first saw her in the Cinema as a child all those years ago but her bumbling henchmen Horace (FREDERICK WORLOCK) and Jasper (J PAT O’MALLEY) provide much of the comedic light relief. Songs are kept to a minimum here – with perhaps Cruella De Vil the best known from the soundtrack – and several of the cast voice numerous characters, even to the point where at times they hold a conversation with themselves! The animation is fine but the backgrounds are less detailed and provide a minor distraction at first until we become used to the animation style. There are some exciting chase sequences during the latter half of the film and the storyline is simple and easy to follow, even for younger viewers, who are sure to adore the numerous Dalmatian puppies even if they find Cruella the stuff of nightmares!

One off the best Disney movie of alltime. The characters are animated great but some off the background buildings just look okay not great but this was made a long time ago so it is understandable. The music is iconic and awesome. And it has one off the best cartoon villains off all-time in this movie her name is cruella Deville. She is so evil she is trying too kill the Dalmatians puppies just soo she can make fur coats out of them. She is so evil she gets her own song in the movie which is a very awesome and catchy song. This is a must watch movie for Disney fans.

Great classic Disney when animation was by hand:)

I keep getting told "I wanna watch puppy dogs." Such a good movie. My kids love it, I enjoy it. Gives nostalgic vibes, so, I don't mind it being replayed in the background while I clean or something. It's not just mindless to show stuff. Not saying screen time is amazing in any form, but, if we are gonna do movies, I want something I'd be okay with watching, too. I havent messed with the extra features or anything. Just enjoyed watching the movie with the kids.
