Fantastic system, easy to install if you have wiring experience.
For the price I paid for this system, the value is amazing. I bought one for each of my cars, they took about 1.5 to install and run the relays, new wires, and get everything set up. If you have a chip in your key, you will need extra parts to make the remote start portion work. I didn't need this, which made it a breeze to install. As others have mentioned, it doesn't come with "Installation Instructions", it also didn't come with a wiring diagram. It does come with a list of what each wire does, but that's about it. I strongly recommend you get this professionally installed if you're not familiar or comfortable with automotive wiring. The relay diagram is for a negative pulse door lock system. Also, a bitwriter is convenient, but not required, you can program it with the valet button and your fob. One thing I found annoying is that it doesn't come with a remote LED light, if you're handy you can solder one on the board where the mounted LED is and run it to your dash. Overall fantastic product for the money. Range has been good too, works from about 300ft away in a building.

Great remote start for a great price love mine don't know how I ever lived with out one.
Love this remote start unit for the price it can't be beat. I will tell you that it can be VERY hard to install unless you know cars and are good with wiring as well as reading the wiring diagrams for your car DO NOT try to do it your self. It will piss you off. This goes for all remote starters not just this one. But that aside this one has great range for the remote and you can adjust how long the car will run on remote start. you can program it to turn on the rear defroster. But I think the best part it that it dose not over run the starter after the engine starts like i've seen many others do. Also plan on having to buy and wire in some relays because some outputs are positve when your car will need a negitive signal a bit of a pain but all cars are different so thats to be expected. This unit should work in all cars however most newer cars will need a bypass modual in order to interface with your cars anti theft system. So do some research and your cars anti theft system before buying so you know what your getting into.

Awesome upgrade to our diesel truck!!
This is working great for us so far! I got this for my husband for Christmas so he can start the truck from the house and let it warm up. It has a delay start, which is necessary for diesel trucks. We have a 2005 GMC Sierra 2500HD and also got the Xpresskit GMDLBP to incorporate the OEM alarm. Note that not every wire needs to be connected, only the ones that will be used with the system. It seems obvious, but the instructions are lacking in that way. Also, we thought it would be great to set it up to have the driver door unlock with one push of the button and the rest of the doors unlock with a second push, but we found that it actually required several button pushes to get all doors to unlock. I recommend just setting it up so that all the doors unlock at the same time.

Affordable, works great, easy install, ignore some reviews
Overall a great unit I think so far, it appears to work flawlessly. It’s pretty easy to install. But if you don’t know anything about car wiring or repairs don’t attempt it. I see some reviews saying it ruined their car, no it didn’t. You did by installing it wrong. If you know what your doing and have access to proper vehicle wiring schematics it’s a simple install. Took me one hour to install this unit on a basic 2006 Kia Rio. I hooked up every feature too, defrost control, horn, lights, locks, remote start, and anti-grind. Some reviews also complain about needing more parts. That the case with most of these kits. They can’t fit all the relays and things into these tiny boxes. Again it comes back to, if you know what your doing it’s easy. If you don’t, take it to a pro. Remote start isn’t for the typical DIYer unless it’s the simple plug and play versions. I am having one little quirk. It seems after driving the car, I exit the vehicle and lock it but I get no horn confirmation like it’s in the silent mode. But if I wait 60 seconds I do get horn confirmation and will continue to get horn confirmation until I switch the ignition on then it seems to go back to silent mode for 60 seconds. So this issue only exists right after turning off the car. When I first installed it, it did not have this issue. Then I changed some programming and this started happening. Called Avital and they said it was installed wrong which is not the case, it’s installed flawlessly and wasn’t doing this in the beginning or with the old unit I took out. So Something funky is happening because there is no programming option to cause what is happening. But amazon swapped it for me so I’ll see if the new one has the same issue or not. I think something just got mixed up in programming. Maybe it just needs a reset but I didn’t want to try that till I had a replacement on hand just in case that doesn’t work. So just be warned, Avital (AKA directed/Viper/python) will not help you if you have a weird issue. They will just say it’s installed wrong. Luckily amazon has your back! And hopefully this next one won’t have this horn issue. It’s not a huge deal and doesn’t affect the way it functions, more just bugs my OCD that it won’t work for 60 seconds after driving which is exactly when I lock the car and exactly when I want the horn confirmation so I know it’s locked.

Not a true alarm
Wish the instructions were better. It's not a true alarm, it does remote start my car, I wish it beeped the horn for feedback to know if the doors locked or unlocked.

Very Easy to Install for first timers
I’m in love with this guy here, was super easy to install in my 1996 F150 even tho I only bought it for $35 because it was a open box. I couldn’t tell the difference between it and a new one. It works well over 3000 feet and works so good I wanna upgrade to the 2way so I can get confirmation on everything such as doors locked and if my truck is running only because in the morning from cold start my truck Usually needs two crates to turn over “older V8” problems but I assure you won’t be disappointed if this is your first install!!!!!!!!!??

Has never worked properly
This thing has had issues basically from the start. My husband is a master tech at a dealership, so he and his other master tech friend installed it, just like they’ve done on dozens of others for customers vehicles, so I have no doubt it was installed correctly. Installation was done late November 2018. With my factory remote, I could click “unlock” once for the driver door, and then twice to unlock the rest. Just a few weeks after install, I started noticing issues where intermittently, one click of “unlock” would not unlock the driver door, and I had to press it twice to unlock it. Over the last several months, the problem just kept happening more frequently. The actual remote start also only works intermittently. You can stand next to the vehicle, press the start button, hear the vehicle initiating the start, but it never actually starts. This happens maybe 25% of the time, and the remote start works as intended about 75%. Now tonight, my husband noticed that when pressing the lock, the vehicle honks to indicate it received the command, but it does nothing to the locks. No matter how many times it is pressed, the vehicle will not lock. We grabbed our factory remotes and locked it to test it, and those work like they should and lock the vehicle. So who knows how long that’s been broken and we’ve been unknowingly leaving our vehicle unlocked. I would not recommend this thing to anyone. It’s been nothing but problems for us. For a while, it was more of just an inconvenience with having to press “unlock” and “start” several times until they’d actually work, but now it’s completely unusable since it won’t lock my vehicle and it’s only 6 months old. I tried multiple times in the last few months to find where I could contact the seller, but can’t find that information available to me anywhere so all that’s left is to warn others. BUYER BEWARE.

Great for the money... if youre not incompetent electronically
Easy to install on my 01 ram. Wiring simple and straightforward. Know how to check wires for voltage before you try to do it yourself. I only had 8 wires to connect for the remote start and had to hook in a dual relay due to my goofy dodge locks, but really only 2 wires for the locks. No security or current power locks on my truck so i didn't need any bypass module. For the RS it really only took about 1.5 hours to hook it up. I had to go in and adjust some things later that took another hour. Truck didn't start on cold mornings with it hooked on virtual tach. Switched to read voltage and set the cranking time to 1 second from .6 and it started after a 0 degree night. Very happy! I don't know how I went so long without RS and locks

Easy install
With a little help from internet resources was pretty easy. We used it to replace a faulty mid-2000s car starter. Basically just repinned wires from old install and cross referenced the wiring diagram from the old and new system, and used the new antenna. Started up first try and also used the door lock unlock. This unit has a ton of features that we didn't use (installed in a 2005 toyota echo), like alarm siren output and rear defrost. It's also possible to activate this unit with a cellphone but it appears you need to create an installer account with directechs.com.

Fonctionne très bien mais attention!
Branché sur un vieux F150. Les instructions sont minimalistes et les termes employés sont ambiguë. Par contre modèle simplet et fait très bien son travail. Recommandé pour experts.
