Entertaining and good choice of problems and activities

Great book to help kids develop mathematical thinking skills (the logic here is of the mathematical sort, there don’t seem to be any verbal challenges unless I’ve missed them). There’s a good range too, from fairly simple to more complex. Paper/print quality is fine as well. It’s a single-use book so not expecting best paper, but it’s perfectly decent (not like the cheap grey stuff you get in the activity books you can buy in the post office).

I have received the book just today and have only looked through it quickly. The book is divided into sections, spacial reasoning, math puzzles, logic problems, word games, focus activities, two-player games and answers. I would say that the first few pages of each section could be done by a six year old, possibly with some guidance, but challenging enough to make them fun and interesting. The puzzles gradually get harder so possibly if your child is six it would be a book that he/she grows into. Some of the drawings are not clear as to which animal is which so maybe a page giving each one a name would be helpful for the younger ones. Also be aware that American spelling is used for example colour is spelled color so the spelling games may need to be checked by an adult. On the whole it looks as though it’s a good buy. It’s a fun way for children to learn to think logically and work things out. 4 stars because of American spellings and unclear diagrams, the skunk or is it a cat, badger -or is it a fox, are anyone’s guess. I haven’t tried the puzzles yet so maybe there isn’t a cat or fox. Anyway as said earlier a page at the beginning introducing the characters would clear any confusion up. Also answers are given, but an explanation as to why that is the answer would be useful. Looking forward to trying this out with my 6 year old grandson

I bought this workbook for my 5-year-old to keep his brain active over the summer holidays, and he was very keen to get started. I’d say 5 is about the youngest it would suit. The book includes a variety of puzzles—word searches, number challenges, logic activities, and problem-solving exercises. Most were understandable for him with a little guidance, and a few were more advanced, which stretched him in a good way. He was able to complete most of the puzzles independently, and the trickier ones turned into fun opportunities to work together. For children younger than 5, it would likely be too advanced, but for 5-8 year olds it’s spot on. A great way to keep kids thinking and learning during school breaks. I’ll definitely look at buying other books in this series.

Very good book with unusual exercises in various levels of difficulty, some of them quite challenging. Probably best not to push the child if they are struggling - just move on to another problem and revisit the tough ones at a later date.

Fun for kids , great variety of activities.

Thought this would be more challenging. It’s not. Child had asked for a book with riddles and codes kind of thing. Thought this would tick the box at the last minute. I was disappointed. And she was underwhelmed. A shame really. But in all honesty it would probably suit most kids up to 7. Definitely not beyond nor bright 6/7 year olds unless they were after an easy time filler.

Bold and easy-to-understand diagrams and puzzles. This is a fun learning book for kids. Funny illustrations and diagrams keep the interest going. A wide selection of thought and observation-provoking tasks. It gives parents a heads-up on how their child's level of comprehension. Exercises cover ages 6-19, for now, some may be too hard for the younger ones, but possibly suitable for older Syblins. I recommend the book because of its fun and promotes cognitive reasoning

This book has a variety of fun activities to inspire your child to happily try and want to do more. A few of the activities may require parental help and support to encourage them to continue and or complete the activity. Your child will improve on their skills, build a stronger resilience, be more confident and broaden their logic and ideas. A fun way to learn!

This book has a lots of cool thinking excercises presented in really cool way. My 6 yo son really enjoyed working with it.

I am a retired math teacher. I have been disappointed with the lack of critical thinking materials my grandchildren use in school (SK - grade 2) This book (part of a larger series of 3-4 books) was a true saviour for us. Not only it makes the kids THINK but my grandkids also ENJOYED doing the tasks/exercises/activities. (My grandson is 6, my granddaughter is 8). Mr Allbaugh (the author) has created (and maybe also collected?) a vast range of tasks - each more interesting than the other. The range of levels of difficulty is perfect: from the ones that would build confidence to ones that require patience and a few tries. Nothing tricky but nothing trivial either. If you care about developing your kids/grandkids critical thinking - do get this! PS: When a kid starts a new task I recommend an adult is there to make sure the kid understands it correctly and starts it successfully.

I bought this book to bring on a long flight. The goal was to keep my daughter out of the IPad as much as possible. It was a success. She loved to be challenged. It is great that the book is divided into sections, so she could choose what kind of game she wanted to play. Highly recommend for ADHD kids who need to work on focus, and cognitive skills.
