Good foundation
This is a good book that runs through the exam topics but wouldnt be sufficient on its own to pass the exam. Lots of the exam questions were troubleshooting faults which were barely covered in the book, so required experience or internet research

Lazy, sloppy, erroneous, key concepts missing
As background I've been in IT for over 20 years and decided to do Network+, I have spent 3 months reading this book as part of a mentoring class. Here are my findings. Overall, the book covers most of the topics but the detail is not there in sufficient detail to give you confidence, many sections of the exam are completely omitted, and there are parts of the book that will make you question why they are there (is it copy/paste laziness or Cisco advertising.) So, here are they key things, some are trivial, some are not: 1. The biggest issue is Network+ exam is vendor agnostic, i.e. everything is based on standards. However, literally every single chapter has large swathes of seemingly copy/paste from the authors Cisco books spoiling every section you read and making you question whether it is needed or not. Once you realise this, you get annoyed at every single chapter wasting your time. So at best you are are being sold Cisco without you realising, at worse you are not learning the correct information. As a very good example and the biggest issue I found with this seemingly lazy copy/paste is there is a section on VRRP (a routing protocol). This is an important section. The problem is first the author spends 3 pages talking about HSRP (Cisco version of VRRP) and literally nothing is useful here for your learning and it is not on the exam, then when it comes to the actual section on VRRP the author writes a tiny paragraph on it (and I mean tiny) and then spends most of that paragraph talking about Cisco's HSRP! 2. The book is really no cheaper than the official hardback version but is softback: Because there are so many pages and the book so thick, the first and last quarter make it difficult to open and keep open on a desk. The hardback has a double spine making it easy. They could easily do this, but they haven't. 3. There are sections on cables and protocols, and you absolutely need colour. This book uses black and white so all codes are different shades/patterns. So pretty much pointless being there. They could easily add colour at little extra cost. As such you need to ignore all these sections and go do your own research. 4. There are many erroneous entries and contradictory sections. At one point a table completely contradicted a small sentence earlier and if you answered the question based on the table (where you are trying memorise 802.x standards), you'd be wrong and lose vital marks. Honestly, do yourself a favour, it might be duller reading, but do not buy this book and instead buy the official guide. A message has to be sent to the publishers/author that their lazy, sloppy yearly updates and Cisco driven content is not good enough. If the publishers/authors/editors are reading this (doubtful) you really need to stop this year on year minor update and fix all the issues listed above.

Plenty of knowledge
Plenty of knowledge, however I have found some errors mainly.in Review questions, for example ed of Chapter 21, question 5. ( The answer should be C (East West since this traffic resides in the data center). Can you guys let me know if you have the same error? How do I contact the author?

The digital content I paid for, isn't accessible
The book is good, but I was unable to access the digital content. The support was singularly unhelpful and the site seemed to be focussed on attaching web trackers (3 of them) rather than letting me access the flashcards
