Who is this camera for?

The α7 IV is for a wide range of users from professionals and high-end amateurs to entry-level users who want to get into photography and cinematography. Furthermore, its functionality supports today's growing demand for streamed media.

Are the subjects supported in Animal/Bird AF for movies the same as those for still pictures?

Eye AF detects facial features of animals like cats and dogs, and continuously tracks them from the side or as pets roll upside-down. Moreover, to detect birds, the AF algorithm has been optimised for photographic conditions peculiar to birds.

Can I use autofocus transition speed to control how fast the focus shifts?

Yes, you can always keep your subject sharp, thanks to our acclaimed autofocus, which tracks focus on the eyes for both humans and animals. Get cinematic results easily thanks to the unique AF features AF Assist, Breathing Compensation and Focus Map.

Does it support slow-motion and fast-motion shooting?

Yes, the S&Q mode supports high-speed Full HD recording at 120 fps, and the Super 35mm mode supports 4K at 60p.

Is the α7 IV compatible with Imaging Edge Desktop and Mobile?

Yes, it's fully compatible and has been fine-tuned to the latest version of the application. The app offers remote shooting, faster transfer of RAW images or videos and enhanced connectivity. The camera is also a full-fledged streaming device.
