Has anyone used these by themselves (without also using furosemide) and seen real results, like reduced hacking from CHF?

I noticed improvement with the "hacking" coughing of phelm afterstarting verti-science. He still has the hacking with activity or excitment. My dog was diagonosed (chihuahua age 9) 2012 murmur heard 2/6 echo showed mild regurgitation of valve. 2012 I read the reviews and started verti-science cardio strentgh. He also has tracheal malacia.. 2014 mummur heard  by the vet reported to be 3-4/. I repeat echo showed mimimal progression no cardiac meds recommended by cardiologist vet  in 2014. I did see a new vet he surggested Lasix once to twice a day to see if it decreased the "hacking" coughing. He still has this coughing with activity although I believe the vetri-science has helped him and I would recommend you starting this to try to slow or decrease the needs for cardiac meds that may require blood work. Why are the ingredients different in the capsules and chews?  Which one is more effective?

My dog's cardiologist and I went through an item-by-item comparison of the capsules and chews.   He didn't feel there was a big difference between the two; but recommended the Chew more often, because it was easier for most dog to take.   The capsule DOES NOT contain Arginine, Hawthorn extract, and HC1.  The Chew does not contain EPA, GLA, Selenium, Vitamin E.  Both contain Taurine which is what my dog needed.  My dog happily take the capsule smeared with a little bit of plain yogurt twice daily.  Her check ups have been outstanding!  Good luck.

What is the mg on this bottle? 5mg per pill?

All the components are listed by mg and iu, such as 250 mg each  of L-Carnitine and L-Taurine, the 2 most important etc., not mg for each capsule. Directions state for cats, 1 capsule daily and for dogs, 1 capsule per 30 lbs. of body weight daily. How do I avoid having the powder inside the capsule turn damp?

Some bottles come that way and some don't. It is a pain to dig out if your dog is not big enough to take the capsule but if you totally want to avoid that then I would suggest the chews. The chews are more expensive but every bottle of capsules comes with a dry absorb and still some are damp and some aren't. It's basically a crap hoot as to what you get but I believe in the product for it ha helped my dogs.
