MRE Bread Combo (Pack of 12)

UPDATE April 10, 2021 - I just received my latest order (back ordered from March). All the packets have production dates from late 2020 - days 222, 287, 328. So, the breads I received are about 4-6 months old at the time I received them. They will be stored in a room where the temperature is no higher than the low 70s. These should be good for several years in my opinion. UPDATE March 2021 - According to the description, this latest version does not contain the multi grain bread included in the original package I bought last year. I would like to have seen them keep it as part of the combo. However, I have noticed that the items included can vary from time to time in their other food packages. I assume they package whatever items are available. ORIGINAL - I have eaten only the multi-grain bread so far, so I can't speak to the other three types in the package. But I found the bread to be more than acceptable to me. Of course, I don't consider myself a picky eater, having eaten C-rations and mess-hall meals in the past. The "bread" is more like a biscuit in texture than a regular slice of loaf bread. That has to do with being able to last for years. It is shaped like a small bread slice. The breads come from the Sterling Company, the same firm that supplies bread, and other baked goods, for military MREs.

taste pretty good, but way over priced. the breads are smaller than you think, about the size of 2 playing cards side by side.

Everything arrived quickly, I've eaten about half of them so far (added them onto MREs that i already had, to supplement) and all have been in tact and none have been stale. Perfect add on to meals, or to throw in your bag when camping, ect. Most sellers nowadays either want a fortune for them, or they are already very old (even for an mre) but these have been great. Will order more soon

Got this variety pack today. When I opened the box and looked at the packages, it seemed like none of the items were very vacuum packed like I expected. I got three of each flavor (with chipotle torts) as was described, and most of them were packed on the 73rd day of 2023 according to their date code. My wife and I decided to try the wheat bread and were pleasantly surprised with the flavor and softness of the bread. They aren't like the 'bread shaped crackers' that you see/get in the MRE's. Pretty pricey for what you get, until you need/want it later I guess. I'd buy another box to put back for a rainy day. I'll update with any gut issues later this evening if needed. :)

My boyfriend loves them. I thought I was ordering bread mixes! Now, we are more ready for the zombie apocalyse.
