Amazon Basics Micro Cut Paper Shredder Sharpening & Lubricant Sheets, Pack of 12, White

What a difference these make? I have had shredders break down over the years and never really understood why because I don't use them on a regular basis, but when I use them I am shedding paper for hours at a time. Most times they would get so hot that they would go into protective mode and shut down to cool off. Some would just stop working altogether! Well, I just bought a brand new high-quality shredder and it came with a set of lubricant sheets. Ever since it arrived I have been a shredding machine!!! So much so, that I ran out of the lubricant sheets that came with the shredder and decided to give these AmazonBasics a try since they were so favorable by other buyers. Not only are these just as good as the brand named ones I received for free, I feel like they work better. My blades are super sharp and clean. I have not had one paper jam since I used them and there is no messy clean up!! My only complaint is that they are not slightly wider. The new shredder I purchased is a monster (very large), so the paper opening is slightly wider than the lubricant sheet. I decided to turn the lubricant sheets vertically and use two of them to cover both sides of the shredder. While this has been working for me, it would be nice to only have to use one lubricant sheet at a time. Other than that, I cannot complain! I wish I had known about these lubricant sheets years ago!

I had many documents I needed to shred, and I realized I could clean out old account statements as well. I googled how long I need to keep credit card records and tax records and it's not long at all, I think both were 1 year. I had no idea! I was hoping not to need to purchase a shredder, but this one suits my needs perfectly. I love that it's on wheels and I love the ease of removing the basket and putting it back. I love the clear handle on the basket that functions as a window so you can see when the basket is getting full. I love that you can shred credit cards and CD's. It runs continuously for 2 minutes, but if I don't run it continuously, if I take some time to sort papers as I go along, it will keep going as long as the motor stays reasonably cool. I will be using this shredder daily for a long time, and I hope that I will be able to empty one of the file cabinets completely, as well as sacks of papers in my closet. I will have so much more room! This one doesn't shred a lot of paper all at once, but that doesn't matter to me, I do some each day and I've made a good dent in emptying drawers of files already. This is a great machine!

Item received is just as the photos and description. I used one about a month after I started using shredder I would of waited and really plan on just using like 1 every 3 months ( as I don't shred a ton of stuff but I do use it to throw out mail that I feel contains sensitive information) but I did this one sooner because I shredded a unopened letter I received and had paid online and I knew it felt kind of thick but still tried and it got stuck a third into shredding it, it was so hard to get out even using the reverse feature but eventually got it out and immediately knew I need to use one of these and get it back into tip top shape and it is working good as new. I was definitely surprised by how easy it was, I mean you see those bottles of oil that you have to do yourself, oh man what a hassle and will I do it right I thought, so when I found these I was like I have to try this. So happy I did I mean it sharpens the blades and oils it and all I have to do is feed it to the shredder like any other document. awesome, easy and mess free, thank you amazon.

I have been needing to lubricate my paper shredder for quite some time, but always kept forgetting to buy oil. While searching for bottles of shredder oil, I came across these lubricating sheets. Seemed like a good idea, much better control of the lubrication process, ensures you don't over-lubricate and make a mess. For me, the hardest part was lack of info on the correct way to feed the sheet. These sheets are not the size of a regular sheet of Letter sized paper, but normally you'd expect to feed them in in Portrait orientation. This would leave at least an inch of shredder teeth on each side unlubricated. I didn't see anything definitive in the questions section as to whether or not these were good/safe to feed in Landscape, so I took a chance and fed it that way anyway, following the instructions and running the shredder in reverse for 10 or 15 seconds (or whatever it was). The improvement was immediate. The shredder became quieter in a number of ways that are difficult to describe. Suffice to say it sounds much less strained and shredding pages doesn't bog it down like it used to. Given this, I can definitely recommend these without hesitation.

This is the best one to purchase. Some of the ones I bought before got caught and this one never has. You just put it in the way it tells in the package and forward run then stop and run backword, then forward and it keeps your machine running perfectly. I put a new sheet in more often when I have a lot to shred. Only because I want to keep it clean and running. Best buy for your money. No disappoinments.

I was going to replace my shredder before discovering this item! I have been using this product a lot I don't know if it helps but id like to think it makes my shredder runs smoothly after working too hard.

MYy10 year old Fellows shredder has been getting worse and worse. It would now only shred one sheet at a time and slowly. It would also cut out after about 6 sheets, so it was becoming pretty useless. After each very short 'shred' I needed to unbung loads of shreded paper from the cutters. It was time to chuck the shredder and buy a new one. I then happend upon these sharpening & lubricating sheets. They are pretty cheap so I thought why not roll the dice and try them. They arrive in a plastic bag and on the face of it look like a small but thick envelope. No obvious signs of what might sharpen and lubricate the shredder. But after passing one sheet through the shredder, it was noticable faster. I decided to pass another of the lubricating sheets through the machine and now its working almost as good as new. I am amazed! If you too have a shredder thats simply not working as it should, I thoroughly recommend this product.
