Beautiful looking cutting board
Have been looking everywhere specifically for an end grain cutting board (the end grains move apart when slicing usually) made out of walnut (softer than maple so gentler on knives) that has drip grooves (meats and fruits spills annoy me) on one side for my growing collection of Japanese knives. The 3 little cutout compartments on the other side were icing on the cake. Also, I didn't want to pay the world for it. This board seemed like the perfect fit! Have ordered some food grade mineral oil for this board to help look after it and hope it lasts for quite some time as it would be a pain to warranty it in Australia!

Beautiful, functional and will last a lifetime if you take care of it.
This board is beautiful and very good quality. I just started using it. And it's so smooth to cut on. It makes it very easy. The weight is nice for this size and it keeps very stable with the rubber feet. I did get a good oil wax for it and I plan on taking very good care of it for years to come. I'm very happy with this purchase.

Beautifully crafted cutting boards and great customer service!
I bought this cutting board on the recommendation of my son, who has two. It is lovely, beautifully made and crafted with care. I absolutely love it! When I had a small crack in the side, I wasn't sure what to do. I reached out to Sonder and they were so helpful. I worked with Kate. I didn't know that living in Colorado in high elevation would require me to oil my cutting board more often, thus the crack. My son in Seattle has enough humidity to where he does not have to oil his as often as I will here in Colorado. Kate was amazing and she replaced the cutting board and gave me a great recommendation for an oil that will help keep my cutting board moist and hopefully keep it from cracking. I love supporting small businesses as the big companies always seem to win and they don't care about the craftmanship or the quality of their products let alone the customer service that is sometimes needed. Kate and Sonder not only have beautiful products, but they are awesome when it comes to people. I am planning on looking at what other products they sell. They are a great company and their products are beautifully hand crafted.

High quality board that is a pleasure to prep on.
As a retired chef I'm picky when it comes to what type of chopping board I like to use for food prep. Wood boards are my preferred choice for home use and this walnut end grain board is such a pleasure to cut on and looks beautiful on my kitchen counter. Size is perfect for everyday use, big enough for prep work but still fits in my sink for ease of cleaning. Note: For carving roasts or whole chickens you would want a larger board. I oil it every 2 weeks and never submerge it in water, which is a must with this type of board...if taken care of diligently, it should last for many years of use.

I was afraid this would happen...
EDIT: This company is an absolute gem of a company and even though I had one bad experience with a product, they are truly worth supporting simply based on their insanely kind, over the top customer service. Tiffany reached out to me to help me fix my board and gave me a lot of great tips and tricks to help prevent the splitting issue. I can see that they really pour a huge part of themselves into their product and try their best to make their product the best quality it can be, but sometimes bad luck is simply bad luck. She continued to check in with me to see how things were going with the repair and you really just don't see this kind of customer service in the world anymore. I will definitely buy a replacement board and other products from this company. 10/10, highly recommend! I really really loved this board. Its an absolute statement piece in any kitchen and so so gorgeous when you start to build the mineral oil into the wood to bring out all the brilliant colors, but in all my research I knew this would always be a risk with these multi-piece cutting boards that are glued together to create the gorgeous puzzle like look to them. I had really hoped this board would last me longer than a year and a half with very regular oiling and waxing given the excellent reviews, but unfortunately my board began to split early this year and it has just been downhill from there as moisture has invaded the crack and began to split it down the middle. This board is NEVER left wet, its hand washed with Clark's cutting board soap, dried, and oiled/waxed once a month with Clark's mineral oil and beeswax and it sits in a very dry spot on the counter with zero exposure to moisture other than when cutting on it, but it still split. I'm so disappointed and somewhat annoyed with myself for not investing the money in a solid wood slab instead. I'm expecting this board won't make it another year as the split grows across the work area and is exposed to more vegetable/fruit/meat moisture and I'm wondering if it would even be safe to use at that point with bacteria/mold building up in the crack. Be aware, these mosaic style boards are sooooo prone to splitting, even from highly rated sellers. Do your research before investing in the type of style.
